Of all of Team Voltron, Keith wanted Pidge to be one of the first to hear the news.
The two have built up a friendship unlike any Keith’s known before ( ...not that he has m{any}to compare it to ) and he wants to get her response out of the way before he goes on stressing too much. A number of possibilities present themselves in his minds eye, very few ending well, but perhaps that’s just his pessimism getting in the way.
They’re friends, right? Like Shiro had said, he’s still the same Keith.
There’s just new knowledge that he has Galra ancestry---that Keith’s blood is mixed with the very same that runs through the blood of their enemies.
Where they hang at his sides, Keith clenches his fists, steels himself, then raises a hand to knock on Pidge’s door.
“Hey, uh---hey, Pidge? I need to talk... to you...”
