Creating something beautiful is easy.
But for the beauty to speak so loud it opens up something inside and confronts the tension of unconfronted things?
That's hard.
For something to speak, touch and transform. That takes labor and work. It doesn't come easy.
It comes from someone who persevered and experienced victory in that tension. They broke through something and something birthed.

This month was jam-packed to say the least. I’ve always loved March, not just because the peeping warmth, but because of its new beginnings. I’m learning:
The creative potential I perceive in Korea will be released partly through multi-generational communication. Learn from the mistakes and accomplishments of the past. We need each other! Honoring produces faithfulness.
Pursuing righteousness and purity brings so much clarity. When my mind is clear, I am able to love well and see through a perspective of security. Secure in my identity, love from God and my community.

I just moved into my new beautiful house in Seoul.
I finished first week at my new job as a bilingual editor.
“I've been completely floored by the care and intentionality of God over my life. I used to despise seasons of monotony, but I've begun to appreciate it more. God paints colors over our canvas in these times, and shares the masterpiece in seasons of revealing. Seoul is a transient place with many people coming in and out. God blessed me with so many wonderful, fun people here in Korea. (And also ones to keep me accountable from miles and oceans away.) I'm so thankful for the community I have here to connect with and do life with to shape my focus and remind me of the purpose that leads all that I do.
I spent my first 2 months back processing and reconnecting. I'm refreshed and rested - and back in working woman life refreshed and rested. New season y'all!
Remember
Remember.
Regain perspective.
Give thanks!
Repeat.

“Remembering produces gratitude.”

1. I always have ideas running through my head. This was one of many that ran through yesterday. It’s rare for me to give space for my thoughts to come alive within 24 hours. Here we go.
2. I decided to record recent thoughts because I rarely do. If you didn’t get #1.
3. I have been waking up in the same position I fell asleep in. I lay down, thinking about the unfinished things, wishing I had 30 hours everyday, and fall asleep unready to sleep. It’s exhausting. I can’t do it all. Surrender might be a good idea. IU said it well:
“모두 잠드는 밤에 혼자 우두커니 앉아 다 지나버린 오늘을 보내지 못하고서 깨어있어. 누굴 기다리나. 아직 할 일이 남아 있었던가. 그것도 아니면 돌아가고 싶은 그리운 자리를 떠올리나.”
4. I try to isolate myself and process the inner workings of my mind. I don’t think my attempts have been very effective. Distractions and prolonged procrastination.
5. Being an editor can be scary. But meeting amazing people and creating creative content is all the more rewarding. More on this later!
6. Seoul is a powerhouse of inspiration. I’ve been flustered though because the ongoing inspiration feels unprocessed. Processed to be shared on pieana!
7. Exciting travel prospects in August and October. Nothing set in stone, but my heart flutters thinking about them.
8. I met many influential leaders in government and education today. I’m reminded more about my unique role as a creative - and visions to become a professional in my craft one day. I also got flashbacks of 2012-2013 life events. I gained courage to leap over fears and do more Impossible.
9. I’m learning: I once thought passion would take me to places. Nowadays it’s about consistency. Passion and consistency adds credibility and substance to your work and words. You can be enthuastic about anything. But have you suffered opposition? Labored in prayer? Witnessed fruits of faithfulness?
10. I’m currently writing this in a hotel room in Jeju. Roy Kim’s soothing voice is playing in the background. IU rocked my world until last week when I heard Roy’s lyrics and thought he was talking about my life. This is my first time ever in Jeju. My parents came here for their honeymoon. The only dream I remember from my childhood was in Hallasan.
