Hands on review of Piel Frama T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SII Case
Presenting the Piel Frama iMagnum leather case for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II. I had an opportunity to try this case out with my phone, and it was a pleasant experience. The phone slides into the hard leather frame of the case, and snuggly sits inside with no chance of falling out, even when holding the case upside down!
The case is slim and very comfortable to hold. It doesn’t add much bulk to the phone, but protects it pretty well. I like the fact that the phone’s bezel is exposed while the case is open, but when closed is fully protected. The bottom corners are fully covered and the top corners are protected well by the protruding leather, which acts as a buffer between the case and a surface it may come up against.
All of the Galaxy S II’s functions are accessible while in the case, and all cut-outs are perfectly aligned. There is even a mesh grill cut-out on the back for the speaker. I tested it out by playing some music, and it sounded clear. The camera works great through the cut-out while in the horizontal mode, but taking vertical pictures may require the user hold the leather flap up to not obstruct the view. However, most flip-up cases will have this slight inconvenience.
The case comes standard with a removable swivel belt clip. When not in use, the hole in the back of the case is covered by a metal tab which screws in so it won’t fall out. When using the belt clip, the little tab is taken out and replaced by a round metal knob, onto which the plastic belt clip attaches to and freely rotates on. A metal key is included to aid with this process.
This case has a simple fitted leather latch closure. You simply take the cover and press it on until it shuts closed. It stays securely fastened until you pull the cover to open it back up. Because the case is form-fitted precisely to this phone, this closure system works very well.
Overall, this is a beautiful luxury leather case that is truly deserving of the Galaxy S II phone. The case is available in black, blue, green, tan and red.
