Piethrien for bad character backstory description!

So! We got The Mall. It’s been around a while. And the families holed up in it haven’t been there as long. But long enough. And Piethrien’s family’s been there since they all moved in.

His dad and his grandad were both very imposing men, in very imposing suits, with very loyal guns to back them up. So, they used that to make other imposing people in fancy imposing clothes, to be less awful. Or they tried. Sometimes it was mostly people in fancy clothes shooting each other. A lot.

So, then we get Piethrien. He’s a fairly imposing man in a very fancy suit. Or, he would be, if he’d stop smiling so damn much. But that’s why his friends like him. He’s actually really nice. And he smiles a lot.

His enemies actually find it unnerving. Because they know he’s a scary dude. But he shows up to the meetings, with his gun. And he smiles. Like. Who smiles at someone before shooting them in the face? Piethrien does.

So, Piethrien was born into this family. He grew up at The Mall. He learned to shoot guns. And he grew up and fell in love with the tailor’s daughter, Astrith. They got married. The wedding was very pretty. Someone set some raiders on fire. It was probably Duncan.

His father died in a shootout. And Piethrien shot the guy that shot his father. He then went home and took over the family business. Which was still mostly shooting the people who tried to use extortionism around The Mall. 

Piethrien then found one of those loud monkey toys. Only, it talked. Or rather, its shadow talked. Apparently the little creature had been jumping from one shadow to another, following Piethrien. And now decided it wanted to live in his shadow. So, that’s how Piethrien got a pet shadow creature named Chaya. That sometimes lives in a teddy bear in their living room.

Then our dude had kids. He had a son and named him Riall. And then he had a daughter and named her Ailear. And now they’re learning the family business. Ailear’s scarier than Riall. But Riall has his dad’s smile. So, they figure it’s all good.

And now, they live in the mall. Shoot the mean people. And pretend that it’s totally normal to have a pet shadow creature.

Cinori is often at her happiest when she's working on her enchanting. She loves making things. Her interest usually falls under things like making the little floating lamps. She's got a little host of those things in her apartment, in different colors no less.

One wouldn't expect Danaan to have a lot to be happy about. She can't remember her past. She got denied the afterlife to be a death knight. But she's still got her music, after everything she's been through. She doesn't remember the old songs she used to know. So she just made up new ones. And she's okay with that.

Count Piethrien Diamondglow of Silverlake is a very skilled shadowdancer. But his son never inherited his talents. But Piethrien's still so proud of his son. Bringing Riall into the world, raising him into the young man that he's become, is the foremost of what Piethrien considers his best accomplishments. He feels that even if he failed to do anything else important in his life, he at least left the world a better place, because Riall's in it.
