As a huge fellow anime fan, how did you feel about what the writers did about Bianca? I'm a little disappointed myself, because she was introduced as a main character, but then was pushed aside towards the end to make room for Cameron and Virgil in the Pokemon League. It was kind of sad, really.
To be honest, I never really liked Bianca, I don't care for Bianca/Barry rivals. Bianca was horribly stagnate and draining to me as a character, by the time the Elesa gym battle came around she really had wore on me. Yeah, I noticed how she got cut off for the sake of Cameron and don't really mind. If I could switch things up she would have gotten eaten by Ash with Trip taking the six on six full battle into his own hands and Cameron getting eliminated Stephan-style in a three on three. That'd allow for a nice showcasing of Lucario, Hydreigon and one fodder Pokemon against Pikachu, Pignite and one fodder from Ash.
It also kind of got on my nerves with how over-the-top she was at times, like crying like a baby after losing to Riolu and constantly gushing over the muscles of the Fighting-type Pokemon to a creepy level. It's a shame because I found myself rooting for and liking hard somewhat during the battle against Trip in the Clubsplosion, as forced as the victory was on her end, she was at least creative, innovative and seemed to be serious. After that in her battle against Stephan, she didn't really bring her A-game. Just more of her usually ditzy goofy self, throwing a fit over "dodging" of all things.
It was the same thing in the league, just more comedy with no other substance to her that I could invest my attention into or that would interest me. I think she would have had a better chance against Cameron if she used Minccino against Samurott, Samurott's a female and Minccino has Attract and Thunderbolt and the small form to get around her like Pikachu did. Not to mention it would have been at least somewhat as agile as Riolu compared to that big monstrosity of an Emboar that was getting kicked and tripped around like an elephant against an ant.
Bianca isn't terrible and I have friends who love her. But at the end of the day she seemed to be nothing more than comedic value and that just doesn't work for me.
