@piiercinggaze (Nathaniel and Poe)
It had taken many weeks for Nathaniel to be deemed fit to leave the agency’s care, and once he did, the former minister had no idea what to do, or even where to go. Margaret had recovered and was finding her own path, leaving Nathaniel to his own devices. A part of this was due to what had happened during the three way war, while the rest was due to his still fragmented memories. It was too hard to be in the presence of the other while he was in this state, so the two decided to give each other some space. This in turn led to Nathaniel aimlessly wandering the streets, tired eyes searching for anything he could latch onto.
After what felt like hours, Nathaniel found himself standing near the docks, his gaze directed to one in particular where the Zelda once stayed. It was here that everything went horribly wrong, and the memories of what happened that day played through his mind, though many were cut short and had gaps missing. It was here that he nearly lost Margaret, and it was here that he was set down the wrong path that cost him everything.
He lost it all, and he gained nothing in return, and he only had himself to blame.
His gaze narrowed as he stared at the dock, and as the bits of his memories continued to replay in his mind, he failed to hear the sound of approaching footsteps and paid no attention to their owner as they came to stand close by.
