"Missed me so much you decided to follow me back to Kalos, eh?" Ophelia jabs Lucian playfully in the side with her elbow, "What sorry asshole is filling in for you at the Elite Four?"

"Still flattering yourself, I see," he said with a chuckle. "And truthfully, I don't know who is filling in for me. Flint and Aaron might be taking turns alongside Bertha." That sentence alone would give away the shitshow that would be unfolding at this moment.

((Are there any specific directions you've wanted to take Lucien overall but haven't had the chance/treads for? ))

//To be honest, I haven't put much thought as to what direction I would like to see Lucian's character go in. This is due to both my own indecision, and the lack of activity in the rpc/lack of folks who want to do longer stories/interactions/character development things.

If I did have to pick a starting point, I would like to see Lucian come out of his shell more and interact with other characters! I would especially love for him to develop more friendships and other relationships, and explore his philosophies as a trainer!

I headcanon him as autistic, so I would also like to explore his autism and how it affects his life and interactions with others.

Note: I, the mun am autistic and had my official diagnosis a few months back, so this is something I wish to explore in writing for both myself and my character!

Upon arriving in Kalos, Lucian and Shauntal took their time deciding on a place they both agreed would be a good fit for them. They eventually narrowed their choices to Shalour City, and Laverre City, with the latter winning out. The town had the quiet calm that Lucian enjoyed, and the whimsical, mythical atmosphere that would be conducive to Shauntal's writing.

With the location agreed upon, the pair made their way to the city, engaging in idle chatter. The whole time Lucian kept one hand in his pocket, his fingers brushing along the sides of the tiny box resting within. He also made sure to avoid physical contact with Shauntal, for he didn't want his nerves to give him away.

Everything had to go perfectly.

"This city truly was a good choice," he said, looking around with a smile on his lips before turning to Shauntal. "What do you think, Dearest?"

"Oh! Is that it?

Here I thought it was something more dangerous. I have a feeling everything will be okay. A woman who has been dating you this long is bound to stick with you for better or worse."

She places a gentle hand on his left shoulder, "I have faith in you two."

"You thought it was something more dangerous?" This brought a smile to his lips, despite his nerves. "You should know I would never get into a situation like that," he said teasingly before his nerves began to get the better of him.

"I know it will go well, and I know this will make both of us happy. Yet it still feels like the bottom will fall out at any minute." He paused. "I've...never been in this situation before, and I don't know if I'm doing this correctly.

It's...nerve wracking."

"Is that so? I haven't seen you so dedicated to taking notes in a long while. You sure there isn't anything on your mind you want to talk about?" She had heard rumors that there was something going on with Lucian, but she wasn't quite sure what it was..

Lucian paused before letting out a sigh. He was no good at hiding when he was caught, and no doubt Cynthia would pry until she got to the bottom of his behaviour.

It was better to tell her and get it over with.

"I am planning to propose to Shauntal on our anniversary. We've been together for four years, and I know this is something she's been looking forward to.

I want to make everything perfect, though a part of me fears that, if it isn't, it will have all been for nothing.

I want it to be enough." I want to be enough, is what he wanted to say, but he kept that thought to himself.

If your muse had taken an alternate life path (and I'm including 'trainer', so terms are used loosely), what would it be? Would they be happy doing that, and why or why not? How might their team reflect their different lifestyle?

//I can honestly see Lucian becoming either a librarian, or an editor for any authors or writing publications, because it gives him an excuse to read all day.

Since he loves books more than is probably healthy, he would love to work with, and be surrounded by them on the daily.

As for his pokemon team, it would remain the same! Having pokemon with telekinesis comes in damn handy for moving/organizing books. Just as Giraffarig!

Cynthia approached Lucian with a concerned look about her.

"You have been acting rather odd lately. Is everything okay?"

He didn't hear her approach due to his head being buried in several books as well as his notepad. When her question reached his ears, the man nearly jumped.

"Cynthia..!" Immediately an arm went to cover the notes he was making. "I am fine. Quite fine, in fact."

He was, in fact, anything but.

Lucian knew that, every time Aaron and Flint were involved with something, headaches would ensue, and this time would be no different. As he entered Flint's league chamber, he would find an ominous assortment of kitchen items around the room as Flint grills meat with the help of his Pokémon and has Aaron taste-test and judge each of their abilities.

(Lucian can just barely overhear Aaron saying that the meat prepared with Houndoom's flames has a slightly poisonous aftertaste, but surely nothing will come out of it.)

When they notice Lucian, though, Flint quickly sets the kitchen equipment on a nearby table to listen to his fellow elite, and Aaron continues to have a snack while reclining on the floor like a diva.

“Really? That's awesome!” Flint answered with a big, cheerful smile that lit up the entire room, walking over to Lucian to give him a congratulatory pat on the shoulder. “I'll be there for sure. Oh, and I know what you're gonna say next!”

“I'll make sure Aaron stays on his best behavior! Right, Aaron?”

“Oh, please. You're the biggest mess out of all of us.”

Flint suspiciously didn't say anything about being on his best behavior himself.

“But yeah, count me in as well. I'm actually kinda surprised you haven't proposed yet.” Compared to Aaron's own wedding with Will, which happened really quick, Lucian and Shauntal were moving at a relatively glacial pace. Then again, that did completely make sense for all parties involved.

On any other day, when Lucian entered to see the sight before him, he would be deeply concerned. The fact that both were cooking, and Aaron mentioned something about poison had him debating whether or not to summon Bertha. If food crimes were being committed, Bertha was the one to summon.

Seeing the bright smile eased his nerves somewhat. "I entrust both of you will be on your best behavior," he said, fixing Flint with a look before turning to Aaron.

"I know it's long overdue, but I wished to take my time to be certain this was the right choice. Not to mention I needed time to make sure the proposal goes off without a hitch."

"Aaron, Flint, I have something important to ask of both of you." It wasn't often that Lucian called upon his fellow elites, let alone the two who were prone to giving him the worst migraines known to man. However, the topic he wished to bring up to them was important. Not to mention that they, along with Bertha and Cynthia, were like family to him.

"I'm planning to propose to Shauntal in a few day's time, and I would like for you both to stand with me at our wedding."

What a nuisance. Really? All of this drama over a little pinched tail?

Cyrus didn't have time for it-- but he knew better than to turn his back on a grumpy Psychic-type.

So... not wanting to give-into it or let whatever was about to happen happen, he reached for a Pokeball inside his coat.

Thanks to his penchant for doing things as-slow-as-possible, though... he was giving Mr. Espeon plenty of time to do whatever it was going to do. Go on, give him what-for.

Espeon eyed the pokeball, using his telekinesis to attempt to pull it from the man's hand and toss it wherever. He knew better than to attack a human outright; his trainer taught him that much. However, he wasn't just going to let this human go about his merry way after causing such an offense!

So he would be working to pry the pokeball from the trainer's hand until the man tried another course of action.

The idea of any sort of pressure coming to the wound draws a growl from the Rockruff pup. Hackles raise, fluffy tail gives a quick, warning wag. But it means no real threat, as it understands that help is being offered. Help that it so desperately needs and wants.

⌞I...I can be still.⌝ It huffs, lifting its head as though bravery and stillness were not a question. As if it had not cowered at her presence mere seconds ago! Still, it sits and offers up its injured paw with a low whine.

⌞Thank you...⌝ The gratitude is offered in a softer manner than its previous howling.

She waited for the little one to calm down, for nothing good would come from trying to take it out while the pup was agitated.

Once she was certain the little one was calm and open to help, she gave a nod before her body was encased in a light purple glow. 'Think nothing of it, Child, but be sure to hold still. I will do my best to make this as painless as I can.'

The purple glow soon enveloped the thorn, which began to slowly move of its own accord. First it moved slightly from left to right before it started to move upward. She kept one eye on the pup to gauge its reactions, adjusting the force as needed until the thorn eventually came out!

'That should do it, but you will want to go easy on that paw for a while.'

"Good, I've seen people literally kill themselves thanks to chasing social media fame."

He wasn't kidding either. With Alola being the tourist region of the world, there were several burgeoning "influencers" doing the most dangerous stunts. But that was a tangent for another time.

Right now, Koko was just basking in the fact that he was correct that Lucian would enjoy and benefit quite a bit from exercise.

"Heh, if that's the case, maybe we should work out together right now."

"Surely they should know that chasing fame is a futile venture. It is a fleeting thing, and one that will slip through your fingers as soon as someone else arrives on the scene." To give your whole life to chasing something so foolish was not something he would ever understand, and he was fine with that.

"...I'm afraid I am not prepared with the right clothing to work out at this time-"
