When we started Juice Magazine in 1993, skateparks were few and far between and we dreamed of the days of Cherry Hill, Del Mar and Marina Skatepark, etc. Fast forward to 2016 and the @TonyHawkFoundation is celebrating its 500th Skatepark and skateboarders are building skateparks all over the world! Jeff Ho has been a seminal force in surfing and skateboarding for more than four decades. After creating his first skateboard at age 8, he crafted his first surfboard at age 14. His passion for surfing led to an obsession for building custom surfboards and skateboards. In 1972, Jeff Ho Surfboards and Zephyr Productions opened its doors and formed the original Zephyr Surf and Skate Team, which evolved into an award-winning competition team, as featured in the critically acclaimed documentary, ‘Dogtown and Z-Boys’. Skateboarding in Venice is built on tradition. This day, in true Venice custom, tribute was paid to OG Z-Boy @jboyadams, (R.I.P).
