an admittedly pretty rough kim 🎄(first time actually drawing her properly lol)
happy pride month have. this thing
insert a clever supernatural joke here. these two are sad boyfriends your honor
i like to imagine scott as a huge cuddlebug
type of thing where you have maybe 30 seconds of sitting down to get in bed before he's got an arm around you. I'm talking dead asleep, fully turned away, you try to get into bed as gently as you can, and by the time you can try to take some of the covers for yourself he's turned 180 degrees and pressing his face into your thigh
scott is like.
scott pilgrim exists in this weird space of characters, where i understand the haters, sometimes i am on the side of the haters (i think he's INTENTIONALLY written to be annoying, at least sometimes), but also like. he's literally cutes. he's a sonovabitch coward who cannot own his shit. when i was younger i thought he lived a really cool life because i was a kid but unironically his living situation throughout the series is not one i would hate. he's an absolute loser who you are very much intended to be critical of, and i am, and it isn't even fun stuff where you can be like "oh i understand why you don't like him, that's why i love him".
no, i like him because he is just so undeniably, unbelievably pathetic. he's my wet cat of a man, but he's not even a man, he's more like a boy. (or a girl, if that's your preference.) he's an immature little baby and he doesn't really think much more than what's ahead of him. type to hear "hey your shoelaces are untied!", say "I'M WEARING SANDALS" and run into a lamp post. what i really like about his character is that he fits into this archetype and it clearly causes problems for people around him, and clearly is a series of flaws he has to come to grips with (even after the comic concludes).
he's annoying. he's immature. he's a loser. he's pathetic, and selfish, but he's unassuming.
and he's cute when he's suffering.
it's been a while since I've said one of my catchphrases....
i think most fanfic writers see Kim as a much more put together person than she actually is.
like, Kim definitely has things more figured out than most of the rest of the cast, I think she has a much clearer view on her relationship with Scott than Scott has of his relationship with her (and i think that's because of what he did) and i think she's also got a lot of good wisdom, learned through consistently getting the short end of the stick.
i think because of her constant sarcasm and the misanthropic way she tends to respond to people everybody kinda buys the hype of how cool she is (which tbf, she is pretty cool) and fails to see that she is such a messy bitch
the more i read scott pilgrim, the better informed i am as to why so many people i know are the way they are.
and the more i want to fuck scott in the ass
i've liked you for a thousand years (well, give or take 990)
(bonus below the cut)
