i always love reading more about your umineko AUs but i saw the tags about the battler&erika exes one this morning and have been thinking about them on and off all day, do you happen to have any other thoughts on it to share?

Two angles would pretty interesting on whether

1)Erika as a piece too has amnesia till end of EP6

It would be extremely mean of Bernkastel but big Tohya-Ikuko parallel. Battler also ends up TWICE in the position in the seat of sby who remembers while his loved ones(platonic) don't remember jack, feat Question Arcs stubborness levels in Erika.

That scenario probably have him grant her an extra foot of forgiviness for the wedding given she didn't remember.

2)Erika as a piece has all her human memories

We critically lack information of how Battler's six year-gap went down. With that said the way in EP1 he says there wasn't much choice in coming back after his grandparents' deaths and in EP4 where he says he didn't even want to come to the conference, I don't think his close friends and possible exes would have a positive oppinion of the Ushiromiya family. (did any Ushiromiya relative beside Rudolf and maybe Kyrie go to the funerals of Asumu's parents?)

So if Erika is roped in as a piece from a meta standpoint and is constantly confronted with how they were much shitter than Battler's stories in school, she would have way more trouble seeing the family with love and understand why Piece+Meta Battler defends them so.

Also always ending up into plots around your ex's life would get super annoying fast.

As for Erika's resurrection in 1998

Now Dawn is extremely weird as a forgery, with Ange's reading not having happened in prime, so it's up in the air whether the Hachijos just stuffed it in a drawer or put it on the web. The latter probably would result on Erika banging on their door and giving Tohya a mini heart attack. Though her being in on that would be a nice parallel to her assisting Ange reaching the truth alongside Evatrice.

If you want to go with the absolute bonkers scenario, Amakusa is Erika the human's post 86 identity and Amakusa stepping out during the EP6 tea party was also to handle the onslaught of memories coming back. The trick ending does feature Amakusa being killed while Erika comes back while EP4 Amakusa has death by gun just like EP6 Erika.

(and if you're a believer in Erika's canon ex being younger Amakusa then I guess she ends up stealing her ex-boyfriend's looks post 86)

Catbox Monsters au and the exploration of where this or that pokemon sits on the spectrum of perpetuating the cycle of violence or trying to stop it:

The mons given by Kinzo himself to his children trying to protect them from the abuse and that rebellion making things worse because it's a sign they aren't able to control their partners.

The Ushiromiya siblings' pokemons as way more open of any resentment towards each other and, unlike their humans who hang around one another for profit and 5D chess, they have no obligation to fake enjoying the other's company during the conferences. So the grandchildren's mons having fun together is even sharper of a contrast.

Kinzo having a Crobat, also known as pokemon series' favourite shorthand for 'guy may be of an arse/mob boss but he doesn't mistreat his own mons', and that information dealing 900 ton damage to his children because it's the living proof their dad CAN be kind and actively chooses not to be with them.

Krauss' Pangoro: you'd think Krauss couldn't possibly have one with how the pokedex describes it as hating bullies but *smiles* Krauss' starter utterly disobeying its trainer and walking out on him would make feel Kinzo and Eva even more that he is unfit to become the head.

Akinaka on Rokkenjima au

Torturing the blorbos by giving Beatrice less than 2 weeks to prepare for her greatest show and having Battler still Akinaka dragged to Rokkenjima by Rudolf less than 2 weeks after his maternal grandpops died.

"Kid, your school and neighbours called me because you wouldnt answer the phone for the past 3 days and then I found you just lying on your grandparents' bed like sea weed on top of a whalefall and stinking just the same. So you are going to the family conference and have a good time with your cousins.

Surely that can't be worse than whatever you were doing back there."

Question for AU writing purposes and the Good Kid song(six schools in six years) from the Lightning Thief Musical never stopping giving me 6 year gap Battler vibes

Would the Ushiromiyas keep up with Battler's recurring school transfers AFTER he left the register?

1)Yes, for the love of undermining Rudolf and DramaTM

2)No, they wouldn't know unless they LOOKED into it

3)See results/other option in tags or replies/Rosa Flan Sauce Extract

Further explanation: the school transfers would result partly from his low results and not getting along with teachers or his class due to his dad's speedy remarriage, shadier business pratices, and cheating having spread around. This would lead mostly to verbal altercations but also a few physical ones.

YES propaganda: Eva and Kinzo would have a field day with this information

Edit: I forgot about the potential steel chair of 2-3 year-old Ange repeating what Kyrie or Rudolf said in front of her without thinking she's remember or asking for clarifications about said information

NO propaganda: as much as they love drama, unless they actively looked into the matter or were told by a third party, would they really keep up with his personal life to this level? Especially when Eva is busy so many days of the week raising George.

Umineko AU - Blood soaked Bird

Was thinking about Kuwadorian Girl not dying at the cliff and how her getting in contact with the rest of the Ushiromiya would have ConsequencesTM.

AND THEN I THOUGHT! Wouldn't it be even worse if Rosa died at the cliff instead?

Mrs Ushiromiya is faced with the sight of her love nemesis a witch a child in a woman's body holding her daughter's corpse not even understanding what happened. Knowing that the last moments with your youngest daughter involved yelling at her for school grades.

Also called any% speedrun of the Ushiromiya family losing any respect they had left for Kinzo cause uuuuuuh you know everything.

Mickey side

As I said on the post about org oc, I am very interested in how a character like Mickey turned into a nobody could be convinced to compromise between their morals. After years of Maleficent and the heartless taking down worlds, after your own fall in an ambush bringing many other down with you pure collateral to the witch but these were people who in their final moments either died protecting you or begging to be saved. I think the temptation of an ally even as sketchy as the organization would be a boon Mickey would feel he can't reject for the sake of the greater good.

Note that here Mickey cannot summon his keyblade due to the trauma of his fall but that Xemnas wants to maintain him as close as possible to avoid early leaks about the org's existence to other parties like Yen Sid or Maleficent. SO there could be bargaining for org members to protect and watch certain worlds more closely in exchange for his cooperation.

Elrena side

Elrena, instead of landing in Enchanted Dominion because of her medium being the stormy weather, lands in front of the Third District's electric cable hazard in Traverse Town.

As the years go by, she kind of becomes a merc slaying heartless here and there without a keyblade. This includes some of the areas outside Disney Town that the Cornerstone of Light doesn't reach and in so she gets acquainted with the castle crew.

Elrena keeps an eye out for Queen Minnie once her King Consort falls in the line of duty, thinking about how the cycle will repeat and her leader will fail her people like the foretellers did. So when Minnie doesn't do that and manages to get back up thanks to the support of the people around her, Elrena is caught off guard and begins to open up again.

When Yen Sid brings the news of a key that could spell the end of Maleficent's conquest at the cost of wandering into hell and no promises of return, the merc decides to take the chance.

Who cares if she was once chosen by another key or not, then Elrena will seize that searing light for the sake of the people who showed that things can be different this time.

Okay but Sayo working on Kanon and Beatrice voices by re-reading portions of her favourite books and recording them on audio cassettes for later reference.

Be Battler, both player and piece, sitting there two umbrellas in hand, as Maria still looks for her missing rose.

Suddenly you start hearing the siren song of your childhood friend reciting a fragment of Then They Were None drawing you into the maze of roses.

Then the voice starts sounding like that young boy Kanon you met today before it warps into yet another a stranger could mistake for your very own. Until the haughty witch-like tone you never heard before today flutters to your ears.

Oh. Your cousin, who wouldn't let up about her precious rose for nearly an hour, is gone. ...Shit.
