imagine you’re the neighbor opposite gallavich post canon; what do you spy from across your window?👀
"Oh! The boys? The couple who just moved in? Yeah they're a bit weird and loud, but they're mostly harmless. Most times they hang out the balcony, just to judge the pool-goers downstairs. And..."
"...More than once, I caught them getting high together while wearing camos and bullet-proof vests. Not sure what that's about -- but they're real giggly when they're high!!"
"And the big beefy ginger one is kinda into gardening -- some herbs, some flowers, but mostly tomatoes. He talks and even sings to them sometimes."
("He's um. Mostly off-key, but. I guess it's the thought that counts, huh?")
"Come tax season, the grouchy one sometimes escapes out into the balcony with their laptop and a shit ton of paperwork. He'll smoke like a chimney and chug close to ten energy drinks a night while he's at it. And then they'll argue. A lot. God, those two will yell at each other like they own the whole goddamn apartment complex or somethin'!"
"...And all that yelling would, um, inevitably lead to a face-off. Sometimes they tussle -- and they don't hold back, lemme tell ya!! I once saw the grouchy one break the nose of the ginger one, I had half a mind to call the cops!!"
"But, most times, they resolve their arguments... well... In other ways..."
"What?? You asked!! And they NEVER seemed bothered that everyone and their moms can see them bang out in the balcony! And---"
"--This? This is not what you think. I uuuuhh... I mean..."
do you think mickey or ian would be the more embarrassing parent towards their kid?
(also love seeing your posts pop up in my feed, you're such a talented artist/writer/editor :]]]]]])
lmao i think they're both embarrassing in their own ways 😂
Ian isn't all that bad though, he's mostly embarrassing in an overprotective way. Like making sure the kid has applied enough sunscreen before going to the pool (he smothers the child in half a bottle of the stuff) and when the kid's grown up a bit, Ian maybe tries to be the 'hip and cool dad' and is always giving his kid condoms and reminding them to stay safe.
Mickey can be the embarrassing parent because of his general disregard of what's OK in polite society and what's not 😂 Like if he gets shushed at the movies for explaining the plot to his kid a little too loud, he would literally yell back, "oh fuck off, we paid to be here too!!" and it gets the three of the kicked out somehow!
So yeah, unfortunately I think gallavich will be Embarrassing Dads (tm) and their kid will have to learn how to deal with them xD
it makes me think that mickey hears all these extra curricular things ian did and he’s always like “you were such a fucking nerd, why do i let you kiss me?”
ian: “shut the fuck up and eat your tofu pad thai i made you.”
mickey: “fine” 😒😮🍜🙂🥰
You have put an image of Ian puttering about their kitchen, cooking for his husband and I can't 😭
But yea I agree Mickey would tease the fuck outta Ian for his extracurricular activities at school and lmao because Mickey rarely joined anything back then (even though I feel like he really wanted to sometimes, but just couldn't because he was so confused and angry all the time whoops I made this into Mickey-angst I am sorry 🫠🥲)
maybe mickey undid those buttons in the club so ian knows who he’s got waiting for him whilst those old pervs look at him
exposing a little chest, perhaps a little bit of tittie to entice your man didn’t do anyone any harm
and it worked. ian couldn’t wait to stick his tongue down mickey’s throat
Ooo I so do like this take as well! 🤩
Gallavich be Gallavichin' in the club, each trying to make the other one jealous lmao
But I also think Mickey might be a bit too busy stewing in his own anger and jealousy in that scene though. So maybe he got a little too heated and hot and sweaty from simultaneously trying to
A) keep his cool in check,
B) look out for Ian (because those disgusting club patrons were perverted and fugly and Ian WAS underaged), and
C) keep his own dick in check (because holy hell Ian really could move those hips goddamn),
so he unconsciously undid those buttons because he felt like the walls were closing in on him.
I just, I love jealous!protective!Mickey okay T^T
Anddddd while we're on the topic of this club scene, I am reminded of one of my favourite Gallavich series in which married Mickey had a sudden flashback of Ian's Fairy Tail dancing days and he clammed up, the poor thing 😭 and Ian noticed, of course, and took care of his husband.
The first part is in Mickey's POV and the second is in Ian's, it's sooo good and hot, and it's by @captainjowl ♥️🖤♥️🖤
Ah!! One of the few that I might actually finish one day! :'D
It's an AU where Mickey drunkenly confessed his undying love feelings to his roommate Ian, but Ian didn't quite reciprocate.
In reality, Ian was as smitten with Mickey as Mickey was with him, but he was juggling work and EMT classes and did not want to be distracted, so he didn't say anything back to Mickey.
They pretended it never happened and got on just fine afterwards, that is, until Ian had a depressive episode and missed both work and classes for two days straight.
It's the first time he learned of Ian's bipolar.
He made some spaghetti for Ian and they talked about it a little.
---
Large, tired eyes peer at him in the dark. Gallagher’s hair is a mess, and he looks sickly, but Mickey can’t quite put a finger on why. He just looks super dead and exhausted.
“...This is embarrassing," Gallagher mumbles.
“Not as embarrassing as me drunkenly admittin’ you have a great ass, I don’t think.”
It earns him a small smile, and holy fucking shit, is it worth it.
“Think you can manage a few bites?” Mickey asks just to change the topic, but his voice comes out so gentle — he honest to god didn’t know he’s even capable of such gentleness before.
If Mandy were here, he’d never hear the end of it.
But she’s not, so it’s whatever.
Gallagher shifts in bed just then, slowly heaving himself up into a sitting position. He takes a few moments just to lean against the headboard and breathe, and Mickey, having grabbed a nearby chair and sitting down, breathes with him. Gallagher presently glances at the dish Mickey’s made, and then at Mickey himself.
“Thank you, Mickey,” Ian says earnestly. His eyes, although tired, are clear, and so are his words. It feels so stupidly intimate, it makes Mickey uncomfortable.
The use of his first instead of last name doesn’t escape Mickey’s notice, either.
Time to change the topic again, then.
“Think you might be thankin’ me a little prematurely, Red, cause you ain’t even tasted this yet,” Mickey says, switching the bedside lamp on before picking up the plate and poking at the spaghetti with the fork. “Might taste like dogshit for all I know.”
It doesn’t. Mickey’s made sure to season the sauce carefully. He’s even taste-tested it before plating the whole thing up.
But it gets Gallagher to smile again. Mickey counts that as a win.
Those big hands make a waving motion, so Mickey hands the plate and the fork over.
Watches with anticipation as Gallagher takes a bite.
Allows himself to smile goofily back at the other man when he hums approvingly as he chews his food.
“Yeah?” Mickey asks, feeling insanely proud of himself.
Gallagher lets out another pleased hum as he chases after a drop of bolognese sauce on his upper lip. “Yep – oh yeah,” he says around a mouthful, “s’good. Fuck. Didn' t notice I was this hungry.”
Well, hearing that is just an ego boost, really.
Mickey just sits there for a couple of minutes and watches as Gallagher eats. He has questions about the whole bipolar thing, but he thinks he’ll wait until Gallagher is better to ask them. It’s obviously not something Gallagher’s planned to ever share with Mickey before, but now that they’re in this situation…
Gallagher is halfway through his spaghetti when he comically pauses and shoots Mickey a confused look.
“Aren’t you supposed to be at work right now?” he asks.
“Huh? Oh. I took the day off.”
Gallagher blinks.
Mickey feels himself blushing.
Gallagher’s shoulders drop when realisation dawns on him. “You really didn’t have to, I would’ve been—”
“No, but I wanted to make sure you were gonna be alright,” Mickey quickly says, avoiding those eyes. “I really thought you were dying, you know.”
He hears a soft huff coming from Gallagher, but he still doesn’t wanna meet those eyes. What would his roommate see? A pathetic guy, crushing on him and taking the day off just to play house?
It’s a little too much for Mickey to process right now, so he stays silent.
It’s all on Gallagher now.
The ball’s in his court.
“M’sorry,” Gallagher says after a while. “My bipolar isn’t something I’m proud of. It’s not something I was planning on lettin’ you know…”
Hiiiii I love your artwork so so much! Since I don’t have anyone else to gush to about Shameless, you’re kind of my last hope 😂. I was curious on your thoughts about this:
Liam grows up, still close as ever with his family (either still living in Chicago or moving away fully like Fiona did). He graduates from a really prestigious university and wants to show how much he appreciates his family. So he writes a book about all of their adventures (not the most kid friendly book) and stories they’ve told him from when he was too little to remember. He shows it to his siblings when he comes home from college one day for the holidays and they all absolutely love it. Then Lip makes a joking comment about him getting it published, but Liam decides to just try and get it published. Because if he learned from Frank, it’s that you never know what may happen. So he goes to a publisher when he gets back to his college’s town after the break and they LOVE it. They ask him what he’d want to title it and when Liam suggests something called “We’re fucking Gallaghers” (for obvious reasons), the publishers don’t really vibe with it, so they ask Liam, “If you could describe your clearly fun and chaotic family in one word what would it be?” Liam thinks for a moment before a word leaves his mouth subconsciously… “Shameless”.
And the rest is history.
Omg thank you so much, I'm glad you like my silly doodles xD
And this headcanon fits Liam perfectly! ✨
And I think it's not so far-fetched to think of Ian as Liam's first reader/audience, since Ian was shown to (at the very least) like reading books (we see him do this in prison) and we know he tested out of English so he's good at it!
Maybe Liam was shy to share at first, but he accidentally let slip that he's writing the book when Ian casually asked what's he's up to one day.
But instead of brushing it off or laughing at the idea, Ian encouraged it and shared a lot about Monica with Liam. And true to his word, Ian didn't tell anyone else about Liam writing the book -- not even Mickey. He'd read snippets or chapters and early drafts or whatever Liam's ready to share with him and would share his thoughts on it.
When Liam was ready to share it with the whole family, Ian just acted like he didn't know anything about it. And Lip might've been joking about getting the book published, but Ian definitely supported Liam's decision to do so when he came asking Ian for his serious opinion.
Needless to say, they were all there at the book launching. Fiona flew in from Florida with A Guy (tm), and jokingly told The Guy that if he really wanted to date her, he should probably read Liam's book thoroughly 😏
Ian had two copies of Liam's book with him at home. One was the Nice Copy that he'd show off to his guests, another was his own personal copy that he'd show kept in his bedroom within reach. Sometimes he'd read it in bed with Mickey, laughing at their shared history and reminiscing on the various crazy things that happened in the past 🥹
Aaaaaaa but thank you so much for sharing this with me!! ⭐️🩵🧡
your tags on that post of ian and the milkovich cousin carrying a wounded mickey.
i love the idea that ian remembers everything about mickey and their interactions. literally from day one. because he was crushing hard from day one. but on the other side to it, mickey is actually forgetful. he does remember the importance things but he doesn’t remember the more niche things like ian. so mickey thinks he can use something against ian, and he’s like “but i remember this” and mickey is all “for fucks sake, i can’t get away with anything!!!!”
mickey “i’ve never liked doing X ”
ian “well you liked it when i did it to you on july 11th 20XX.”
mickey: “what the fuck? when?”
ian: “that day we were hanging out at X. and you were wearing my hoody…”
mickey: 👁️👄👁️
(ian also keeps a box of mementos that he couldn’t bear to throw away even when he wanted to pretend mickey didn’t exist)
headcanon accepted 10000% - thats why ian was so bummed about the whole "is it the 20th or the 21st mickey?!!"
it leaves mick's mouth hanging each time ian reveals a certain memory, and sometimes he may even feel guilty that he can't commit every little detail to memory like ian can.
but then when he's feeling particularly sappy, mickey blurts out, "okay tough guy how bout this? imma keep creatin' new memories and shit for you to remember me by, see if you can keep up!" and smothers ian in kisses and then asks him to make sure to remember what colour his fucking boxers are that day because he's gonna quiz ian on it next week.
next week comes and mickey forgets to quiz his husband on it. ian reminds him anyway - "you were wearing those grey boxers i got you for christmas 🥰" and honestly? ian really really loves the fact that his husband is trying to create new fonds memories for them to cherish together🥰🥰🥰
