I’ve discovered some people are intimidated by zippers, so here’s a really basic tutorial for installing a zipper so that it’s hidden inside a seam.

Pillow Case Tutorial

1. cut 1 yard of 45" wide fabric. fold it right sides together length wise, lining up the selvedges

2. sew side seams, leaving one short side open

3.  fold and press your open side about 1" all the way around. 

4. fold again and press a 4" hem.

5. topstitch hem, press and flip rightside out.

I love this pillow! But then again, I'm a sucker for ruffles. My bed is a bit of a mish-mash of brands and bits. But overall I'm all about the comfort, so if I have anything decorative on my bed it has to be practical too, so I like that this is from a normal pillowcase but with a pretty ruffle to it.
