"People who are on sertraline have such a hard time getting off of sertraline!"
I found it hard to be off sertraline… before I was on sertraline.
It's called a mood disorder.

“Why am I like this? Why do I have to take pills just to feel normal? - Anxiety Shark isn’t feeling too great” Fun facts: I have an anxiety disorder and I love sharks 🦈 decided to combine those things in this vent art. Pill shaming is unfortunately rampant when it comes to mental health, and it’s difficult not to internalize it. When it comes down to it though, what you do to treat a mental health condition is between you and your doctor. Sometimes that treatment plan involves medication, sometimes it doesn’t. What matters is that it works for you. #artistsoninstagram #anxiety #shark #pillshaming #mentalhealthmatters💚 #ventart #markers #highlighters https://www.instagram.com/p/Br_yk5anVtl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vrz050iyh2la

They put it so perfectly that I'm just going to put their exact caption here: #Repost @effyourbeautystandards ・・・ @rainbowchatman 🎨Repost: @makedaisychains This illustration reminds us/you not to judge someone for needing mental health medication, pain medication or anything else. It’s making sure you don’t tell the person they haven’t tried hard enough to be mentally well, eg by saying “go eat better and do yoga then you won’t need it”. Or emphasising the negative side of taking medication like “I couldn’t take that, I wouldn’t want to have THAT side effect”. Because yes, we know all about that. I also want to point out that there are people who are forced to take medication. Not everyone chooses. Please also don’t pressure people to stop or encourage them without full support plan. .• It’s ok to take medication for your mind. It’s not ok to shame other people for taking it. And remember not to shame yourself.
