Ormesby Hall, near Middlesbrough, has two model railway layouts on permanent display. This one is an OO Gauge model of Pilmoor, between York and Thirsk, in the period before quadrupling in the 1930s. Note the representation of LNER searchlight signals, as used heavily in the area (around Newcastle they survived until c. 1990). I don't know if they are completely accurate; before quadrupling the York-Thirsk line used very American-style automatic semaphores, but I'm not sure what was used at Pilmoor. #middlesbrough #ormesbyhall #train #railway #model #modeltrains #pilmoor #oogauge (at Ormesby Hall)
