Obito Modern AU
So, I spent weeks scouring the net for some billionaire CEO Obito (and no, not the romantic ones where they fall for the poor secretary, and have a ton of emotional baggage). I was looking corporate strategy, corporate politics etc, cunning Obito who will strategically dismantle his opponents. And in my frustration at the lack of content (there isn’t any), ended up creating my own because: “Be The Change You Want To See” mentality.
This is the outcome of that frustration (though a work in progress). In my planned fic (actually a sequel for one I’m currently writing [wild, I know]), Obito starts a company (yes he had money because Uchiha Trust Funds are wild) and it turns into a frigging empire (my boy has crazy bandwidth in this because he’s Uchiha and they believe in domination).
The Uchiha Clan - powerful, old money family that has tentacles everywhere in society - sees Obito prospering and be like, “Here’s Uchiha Airways, it’s yours now. A gift.”
Side note: he already had a PPL, but due to circumstances (he flew his private jet, a B787-9 configured for a lounge and 300seats [remember billionaire status] to evacuate stranded civilians during an impending storm), (PPLs could fly what they owned, there was never a size limit of the aircraft, but then regulatory bastards stuck and it spiraled from there) so Obito ended up getting his CPL to spite the shit out of them. So yes, Obito Uchiha can legally fly the planes of his own airline.
This is his airline’s livery. This is what Obito flies when he’s First Officer. And yes, he renamed, rebranded Uchiha Airways to IUMAK Airlines (which is just KAMUI - his musician alter-ego - spelt backwards because he was trying to be slick and not have people find out he owns it.)
And yes, Obito flies regional legs (not too often, that’s disruptive) of his own airline because he doesn’t want his CPL to gather dust.
So yes, Obito is a billionaire because his Trust Fund (stocks, investments, real estate those kind of shit) was wild, he’s smart, he created a company for creatives (he’s a musician [not an idol] too that has the world in a chokehold) that turned into an empire, and then his family gifts him an airline. So the man became CEO of two companies (though his delegating skills are top-tier and both Kakashi and Minato exist and they are just as ruthless as Obito so he doesn’t really worry about his creative empire because they got it covered)
But! He’s a cunning, manipulative, unhinged bastard (strategic sounds better) when he needs to be. When he’s ready for expansion, he picks his targets carefully then goes in for the kill. Obito Uchiha will always get what he wants. 😌
His staff love him though (they call him a “menace” and “chaos incarnate” and he loves it) because he takes care of them and treat them well.
But yeah, it all makes sense though, I promise.
