Okay, so since one of the users has been posting about Orap, I did my research and I would like to say that I do not support the use of it without some serious deliberation with your doctor. Apparently it was discussed for me when I was younger and my mom vehemently rejected my using it. It has many potentially fatal side effects (which I don't think are worth having less tics over, personally), such as tardive dyskenesia (pretty much involuntary movements like TS, but so much worse), Long QT Syndrome (a disorder that causes irregular heartbeat), severe mental and physical disabilities and severe depression. This medication is primarily an anti-psychotic, so if you aren't bipolar/schizophrenic, it is not a risk worth taking. If you have tried every other possible medication and your doctor feels this is the last resort, be extremely cautious. But unless you have no other choice, I really don't want any of the numerous, frequent fatal symptoms to happen to any of you.
I don't want to leave such a morbid impression and ruin everyone's day, but I saw some of you being interested in taking it for the minimization of tics, and as with every medication, thorough research has to be done.
For anyone currently using it, I'm sure your doctor knows what he/she is doing, so don't read this and be terrified to continue taking it. I just felt it my responsibility to spread the awareness of such serious side effects, the likes of which are almost unheard of in other TS medications.
