Office Yomi, the mascot of the company since she is too big to actually do some work, but people believe that giving her food would make them have good fortune based upon nothing but coincidences.
How long has it been since Yomi joined the company? That picture of a smiling, skinny pinkette on her ID is almost unrecognizable as the lethargic lardpile of a girl now...
It started out innocently enough. Yomi was just a standard new hire at her office job, getting used to the environment and befriending coworkers. She ended up fitting right in as a productive member of the company!
However, the office life wasn't kind to Yomi's figure. Sitting at an office chair for 8 hours a day, only to get home and sit on her couch until it was time for bed, wasn't doing any favors for her. That, paired with her disregard for any healthy diet and addiction to sweets meant that she started ballooning before she knew it. Over the months, she kept packing on the pounds, plumping up into the resident office fat girl. No one dared to comment on her weight, especially since Yomi was such a nice coworker! Yomi hadn't realized the extent of her weight gain, and with no one voicing their concerns, her waistline spiraled out of control.
Even when her waddlestomps could be heard across the office and she could barely squeeze her billowing gut through her cubicle, Yomi still remained a crucial part of the team. It only really became a problem after her office chair snapped under the weight of her wobbling rear and she found that she couldn't stand back up, even with assistance. Yomi had officially reached immobility.
This usually would've been grounds to fire her. After all, she couldn't even walk through the halls and her fingers were bloating enough to impede her typing. The only reason Yomi stayed with the company was due to the overwhelming consensus among her coworkers to keep her around. They always enjoyed Yomi's presence, and they'd hate to see her leave. Management discussed how they'd keep an employee around who was physically incapable of doing much other than eating, ultimately landing on making Yomi a company mascot. They made room for the blob right in the middle of the office, teamed up to move her to her new permanent residence, and kept Yomi there 24/7.
It ended up working surprisingly well. Yomi was "paid" in enough fatty meals that she never went hungry. She became the perfect spot to take a break and chat near, even though Yomi didn't have much to say anymore besides sluggishly begging for more food. And she even created a few job openings: caretakers for her that would feed her when everyone else leaves the office for the day. A new fridge was added to the office, filled to the brim with sticks of butter that employees were free to feed Yomi with whenever. It had to be refilled daily. Her coworkers also decorated her for special occasions, like painting her orange and drawing a jack-o-lantern face on her floor-spilling belly around Halloween, and wrapping her up in tinsel at Christmastime. Though the attire she wore on her last day of mobility was never changed and her clothes barely covered anything anymore, Yomi was deemed exempt from the office dress code. Rumors even began to spread that feeding her and rubbing her belly or butt would bring good luck, and soon the entire office participated in pampering Yomi. Although it wasn't the direction Yomi thought her career would go, she ended up becoming the most indispensable employee at her workplace.
