9/15/19 Three day class at Mendo Art Center with master pine needle basket maker, Carolyn Zeitler. Taught by 70+ yr old adventurer, fire watch-woman near Carmel. Carolyn became the fire watch with time to practice her craft. Japanese/Buddhist. Anyway the work was difficult, hard on hands but we all came up with completed basket. Mine the primitivo in lower right hand corner. Warping loom for Navajo wedge weave end of month. Creative writing class is deep. Beautiful fall. Morning light. Rain last night, this morning. Large cypress branch down. Hwy Patrol yellow taped a one lane. Waiting for repair person. Granpa decided it was time to die. He will stop eating. Dave off to say good bye. He was a great granpa!

i make them to hang on the wall and hold garlic or whatever you got. we have two big ponderosa out front and i collect from them in the fall.
My second pine needle basket. I can’t wait to give it to my daughter. I hope she loves it as much as I do.
