They're called Pine Tarts. Tarts with pineapple jam. My ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE PASTRY!!! I suddenly crave more of them so I wanna know if any of y'all have ever had them?
(I believe that they originated in Indonesia, maybe??? This is just a Guyanese version, which is where my parents came from, and our little local bakery sells Guyanese pastries, so like DELCIOUS)

I’m pretty sure I’m under the influence of the 4th of July. Although Pine Tarts are not American (Canadian: Calgary, Alberta...same town as Lab Coast), they do kick-in-your-teeth rock n’ roll that deserves to be played loudly at some block party. This is the sound of independence.
While the most obvious touchstone might be Titus Andronicus, their are obvious strains of The Wildhearts, The Replacements and even The Pogues.
This is available on tape from Shake! Records and apparently it’s also available on vinyl from BOW Records (although I couldn’t find it).
