“it’s just a little scrape i’m used to worse.” and now that cindy remembered her past life she could truly say she’d felt worse in her life....death? whatever. “i’m a doctor though. intern. but i’m a doctor still so i’m okay, i promise.”

“i think i’d be happier if this was forever,” dani commented as she clung to her mother like a child, hands wrapping around the back of her shirt as their head rested against her chest. yes, they missed home, of course they did, but they were together here. that was all that mattered. home was no longer safe after that manthing came, but now? now they could restart. “i missed you so much, mother.”

vi nearly rolled their eyes at the girl’s comment. “cait? i’m not falling for that, really.” they folded their arms over their chest as they stayed looking at the other. they wouldn’t break contact with them unless they really felt like there was a good reason.
