@pinkybunnie WELL... the one i’ve had sitting in my head for a while was about Jack having met Hana’s father when Overwatch might have assisted South Korea in the defense against the kaiju-omnic when it first emerged (I hc this as being right before Hana’s born)-- and then meeting his daughter 20 years later.
And for another-- I think a lot about how Hana being drafted into MEKA might have been exclusively a military arrangement at first-- no pink mechs, no cute flight suits and bunny logos on things, just straight up military-issue gear. And then the government realizes there’s an opportunity there--not just with D.Va but with the other gamers-turned-pilots, to craft them into these “superhero” figures for the people. And that’s when the combat streaming starts, that’s when the sponsorships gets carried over from pro-gaming days and that’s when the MEKAs get branded with their pilots. And that’s when military superhero D.Va comes to be.
