Eddie's Tips on How to Choose YOUR Right Opportunity
With the month of May and graduation just around the corner for students all over the country, it can be a bit overwhelming preparing for the next step. Well, April showers bring May flowers, and those flowers bloom in the form of brand new exciting employment opportunities. Here are some tips from our President, Eddie, on how to capitalize on those opportunities.
1. Keep an Open MindJust like new foods, you never know how a job will be until you try it. Apply for anything the piques your interest, and at least explore the options you have available to you. Often times, you find your ideal match where you least expect it.
2. Make Informed DecisionsA lot of times, your friends and family will provide opinions on potential careers for which they have no experience. Do the research yourself, and make the choices that you personally are happy with. After all, you are the one who will be living with the results.
3. Be Yourself in the InterviewYou don't want to be hired at a company that thinks you're someone that you aren't. Let your personality shine, so that you know they like the real you.
4. Do Your HomeworkOnce you make a decision on where your ideal career fit is, put in the effort to be over prepared on your first day. Employers will take note of the initiative and hold you in higher esteem.
5. Go All InDon't just put one foot in with a new career. Do a cannonball! If you fully immerse yourself, you will truly get the most out of it. You can't expect to reach your fullest potential with only partial effort.
