Dear Gus & Magnus,

This afternoon Gus joined me and the Garver interns on a field trip to a project site at McKinney National Airport. He liked seeing the airplanes in the hangar, and I liked having him tag along with me on a work thing. I can't wait until he's older and can get even more out of the explanations. I'd love to have him tag along on more trips in the future. And Magnus too, when the time comes.

Afterward, we said goodbye to the Garver folks and went as a family to Pinstack, which has arcade games, bumper cars, etc. This picture was a kind of virtual roller coaster with seats that shook. Mom got the nervous giggles just like she did on the Magic Carpet Ride at Disneyworld. It's my favorite.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

After today's Ignite events, everyone bussed over to Pinstack for bowling and arcade games. Laura and I took our picture with one of our Dallas interns, with whom our cousin Emory rooms with at the University of Arkansas.

Meanwhile, back home, Mom took Magnus to his doctor's appointment today and he's still gaining weight -- over 10 pounds. Dr. Strong said it's not a big deal, but Magnus's ears are folded oddly. He didn't make one recommendation over the other, but said some people opt for something called ear molding to reshape them. Mom and I are mixed on whether it's something we'll pursue -- a strictly cosmetic procedure.

NOTE TO SELF: The chicken was brittle. The pork fatty. The sauce sugary. Standard mac’n’cheese. I loaded it all up with jalapenos so I could eat it.
