on generative artificial intelligence in fanworks

Recently in the Phandom various fics and art have been accused of being AI-generated.

Given that this is really, really difficult to verify or disprove, I am making a blanket request about it. Y'all already know I don't fucking like it, but I can't keep my head in the sand about it any longer.

If you must make your art/fics with the aid of some sort of generative artificial intelligence, then I guess that's fine.*

Please explicitly state that you used generative AI in a work.

Without this kind of honesty, we are just going to devolve into a paranoid melting pot of pointing fingers, and I don't want that for us.

*It's very much not fucking fine, but I cannot police everyone all the time. I would just like the opportunity to withhold MY engagement from this kind of art/creative work. and furthermore if you don't want to add this disclaimer because you'll get hate mail, well, maybe don't use AI then.
