Isn't Ante also an 11?
Yes, but only in the sense that 11 is funnier to say than 10 in a 10-point system.
I think the most easily understood explanation to the Richard Garfield / Land / Ancestral Vision question is to draw a parallel to the "colorless / share a color" explanation people have become familiar with - things with no color don't share a color, and things with no mana cost don't share a mana cost (though they do share a CONVERTED mana cost, that's not the attribute in question).
A fine comparison.
I don't think red has gotten temporary theft of lands specifically, but it has gotten temporary theft of permanents, which can be lands (Zealous Conscripts, for example)
Fair enough.
In today's article, when discussing the story behind Zur the Enchanter, you specifically mention Time Spiral design, but Zur was printed in Coldsnap. Was Zur originally designed as part of Time Spiral and moved to Coldsnap later?
Yes. It was originally designed for Time Spiral and moved to Cokdsnap. I forgot to mention that part in the column. Oops.
Are the rules of Design Sealed any different from normal sealed, other than the fact that you're playing with a set still being designed? The custom card community might get a kick out of trying it with their own custom sets.
The only big difference between normal Sealed and Design Sealed is that problematic cards get changed on the spot in Design Sealed.
Did you intentionally post the Lingering Souls comic twice? Because if it was an accident, it works out pretty well actually.
I knew it was from Dark Ascension and just wrote down the wrong plane. I often post my comic while getting my kids up for school so my attention isn't always focused on the task at hand.
You've said that a third Un-set would be unlikely to include reprints, and I understand your reasoning for that. However, would it be possible for the set to include the tokens made by previously printed silver-bordered cards (4/4 red Giant Chicken, 5/5 pink Giant Teddy Bear, etc) since those cards are unlikely to ever be reprinted (and thus the tokens for them would otherwise be equally unlikely to ever see print)?
Reprinted bring black border cards is hard to do in an Un-set. Tokens don't require a black border.
