Piper pt. 1
Part 1: Of course, Today...
“Are you freakin’ kidding me?!!” Piper exclaimed just as another clap of thunder shook the walls of her home, She gritted her teeth as a low growl rumbled from deep within-side her. “Of course it would rain, today!” She muttered and threw her face into her hands in defeat.
“Nova and Evangeline are going to be so crushed when they look outside...” She cried softly as the images of her sweet little sister’s faces becoming sad flooded her mind’s eye and She felt her heart drop. She was so busy between trying to finish up her University career, and also hold a part-time job to make the ends meet, That she had very little time to get out to her Dad’s house to see everybody.
She hoped that maybe it was only raining here in Newcrest, Oasis Springs was a good hour and a half drive for her and a pretty dry area in itself. How mad she was at herself now for having to take that month of Summer classes, She should have used that precious time to enjoy the sunshine with the girls! “I’m 20 years old... I shouldn’t be working myself to death like this.” She wiped the tears from her cheeks as she calmed herself down with some stuttery breaths.
“Maybe instead of panicking I just text Dad, or Kalista, and see what’s going on over there...” How couldn’t she of thought of this first instead of just melting down? “Hey guys, it’s pouring here at my house, but I still wanna come out even if I can’t take the girls out like I had wanted to, what’s it like on your end?” She typed quickly into the group chat with her Dad and Step-Mom, and when the bubbles for seen didn’t pop up within a few moments after hitting Send, Piper realized that maybe they hadn’t even gotten up and motivated yet.
