ok i know i sent one but: why the fuck were there fics where percy fucked literally everyone?

i really wish i could tell you but i literally don’t know, they were just there. i guess maybe it had to do with the whole “hero of the prophecy” plus this was greek mythology being fandom-ized for the first time besides the original clash of the titans in 1981. the nsfw range was open and unused and there was absolutely no control for anyone and yeah, yeah i guess that’s it.

pjo history: percy x olympian fics / percy x artemis fics

oh boi.

listen i will not lie, i read so many of these. me in my middle school / freshman year of high school years. i’m not sure if they were a trend throughout every fandom, or if it was just this fandom, but the format of the fic would be percy x olympian god, with a new one for every single chapter. they’d be these gigantic rated r fics with twenty four chapters and you’re like how? why? but there was no other nsfw content so you’d read them. 

there were a lot of percy x [ insert character ] “master list” kind of fics, some were really amazing and well written and had angst and a plot and there was even sometimes character death and you’re like wow, a ++ and the others were just complete smut, absolutely wild, scar me for life kind of fics. it was wild.

also, percy x artemis or even percy x zoe happened so much. it was a rlly bad trend lmao. i never read any of these, i think i read like one for a laugh, but i’ve scrolled through mostly every pjo fic at this point so i can say that they always either had percy as the “macho, brave hero” that artemis couldn’t help falling for or percy was oblivious to zoe’s love and she’s like “you’re the only good man there is, sleep with me”

early pjo fandom was a ride, the pjo fandom when there was only devart and livejournal was a ROLLERCOASTER.
