When Things Were Normal || EJ & Piper || Flashback
Graduation caps were flying everywhere, people were cheering and cameras were snapping in the distance as every student in the vicinity of the area nearly cried in joy. EJ was no exception, the wide grin she possessed close to breaking her face in half as she stood up from her fold up plastic chair along with everyone else, throwing her cap into the air before pushing her way out of the crowd. So unfortunate, having to sit in alphabetical order by last name, she thought dimly as she fought her way over to the M’s, bumping into celebrating teenagers as she did so.
Once she had reached the blonde, EJ threw an arm around her shoulders, laughing. “It’s done! We’re free! No more government imposed child labor for us, no siree!” she laughed, nudging Piper with her elbow. It was a good day. “Okay, we are going out for drinks, because I found this really awesome bar that doesn’t card and doesn’t give a shit if you’re underage. Plus, Nathan and I aren’t hanging out until tomorrow night which means I am all yours, and I’d like to be drunk for the rest of it, I don’t know about you.”
EJ felt happier than she had in a long time. Despite the fact that there was no one in the crowd waiting for her, ready to congratulate her on actually graduating high school, the brunette felt like she was flying, on top of the world, could have done anything and everything at that one point in time. And it felt wonderful. “What do you say babe? Long islands and ice cream?”
