Stakeout
It was past time for Henry to return to the fight. He’d barely joined the Order and taken up the righteous cause when sobriety brought him to his knees, then grief cut out his fledgling feet from under him. But he was well enough, now. It didn’t matter that he was hardly the picture of health; he was ready. He’d seen the damage done at James and Lily’s wedding, and then- Nigel... And he’d killed his demons, quite literally. The incident over Halloween was the last straw.
Which was how he found himself on watch a midnight, paired with another Order member he hadn’t officially met yet. They’d been sitting on a covered rooftop across from a warehouse for almost an hour now, watching for any Death Eater activity, when Henry finally decided he’d had enough of entertaining himself with his increasingly spiraled thoughts.
“What’s a beauty like you doing in a place like this?” he asked lightly, glancing over at her profile bracketed between the silver moonlight and the golden glow of street lamps beneath them. When in doubt, flirt.
