tell us which piece we should send some love to
Oh ;;; this is such a sweet one thank you (and good for my self esteem dfkghlkdg)
30.) Tell us which one of your pieces you think is underrated?
I'm very proud of this one - not super underrated reception wise! But it's one I'm most happy with I think ;;; and I'd love for it to get some more eyes!
Here it is again!
im real confused with everyone saying the episodes are pre-recorded. which is fine is just..are they not live anymore? did they change their minds? did something happen??im so lost
oh yeah! so they initially switched to pre-recorded episodes after covid hit during c2, because they were working out a socially distanced way to do things. my understanding is that having the episodes pre-recorded allows for fewer personnel to be actively working on set while they film, so it was safer at the time. they ended up keeping the pre-recorded format for c3, most likely because covid is still A Clear And Present Danger and potentially also because it's just easier, production- and/or schedule-wise.
but the episodes are filmed straight through with no editing (aside from some silly stuff during the announcements every once in a while), so it simulates a livestream very closely!

hi hello do you have any tips on drawing hands? your hands are so good 🥺
Hey there @pipsqueak216! I have been trying to think about how to answer this ask as I've never really been a great teacher or one able to explain the sorts of things that are pretty automatic in my brain at this point, but I will try!
Some handy tips about hands:
Each digit on an average human hand has 3 segments (including the thumb!). These can vary in length, but generally speaking, each segment is typically 1/3 smaller than the segment than the segment before it (starting with longest at the base of course). This is not a hard and fast rule, but something I've observed that helps keep things in proportion! Observing my own hands, this leads the length from my base knuckle to the second the same approximate length as from my second knuckle to the tip of my finger.
The length on thumb knuckles will very though! There is a lot of character stored in how you draw a thumb! In the case of my hands, the second and third segment of my thumbs is about the same, but still about the same combined length from first knuckle to second (maybe a little longer):
See that bottom knuckles? That is there your thumb actually connects with your hand. The space that fills the v-shape is muscle and flesh and will flex on this axis to an extent (mine is double jointed so I get a lot of range). A big part of getting thumbs "right" is to remember it does NOT start at that second knuckle.
Everything outlined in green is the domain of your thumb. The blue is the line of where that last bone is that makes the edge of the main part of the hand.
2) Thumbs are weird! Some are wide, some are skinny, some are skinny and get wider towards the top, some flex back at the top joint (see hitch hikers thumb) to different degrees. I would encourage you not to make your thumbs ulta-uniform. That will lose any attempt at 'realism' you may be looking for. Once you have some basic understanding of the anatomy down pretty good, you can do more and more exaggerating in a stylistic way without loosing that accuracy in what makes a hand read as a hand.
These are just some thoughts I had off the top of my head! You can exaggerate proportions as you see fit for your characters! For Laudna, I exaggerate the length of the fingers between knuckles (keeping the over all proportions between them the same), but keep the size of the main part of the hand the same as it would be on a typical hand (relative to arm and body). Also, for her I exaggerate the knuckles to help convey the thinness/boniness of her already very slender hands.
