would be accurate for me to describe 'healing rust' as 'catsvdogs without the romance'?

I mean… kinda?? CatsVDogs is much more of an AU, and Healing Rust is sort of a canon continuation from the end of V9

In CatsVDogs their relationship (friendship) also starts MUCH earlier in Jaune’s time living in the Ever After (within the first decade or so). Also, ya know, CC gets turned into a “human” pretty early on, that’s why the romantic feelings blossomed

In Healing Rust the Cat remains a Cat, there is no romance (as you mentioned), and Jaune and the Cat only really started being friends about two decades in. It also focuses a LOT more, almost exclusively in fact, on Jaune’s time healing in Vacuo (although I admit there hasn’t been a lot of healing lol). The Journals fic is MOSTLY for my own reference and context, cause the FOCUS is the healing after

Also fun fact, I made an AU of my own AU (CVD) that I’ve been calling the Sunshine AU. Might post stuff about it if I ever get around to organizing my thoughts. But you know you’re going off the rails when you start making AUs of your own content

I must admit in shame that I’ve never played Pokemon, so I don’t actually KNOW what would be a good team for someone to have?? I mostly go on vibes alone when I’m picking pokes for characters

I think a Pokemon AU would be really cool, but that’s mostly because it think the outfits and design language of Pokemon characters is really cool. I’m just unfortunately not the person to ask about the actual mons :/

There are many fun reasons to have a character avoid using guns, but I think "this otherwise-awesome fighter is a really terrible shot" is an underappreciated one. Yes, they're available in my setting and would work against my enemies. No, I don't have a moral code against them or a power that makes them redundant. I just can't aim for shit!
