this is technically art wip + au but i was cheeky and split 'em. but ilu jay, so i'm gonna reveal the dumbass sketch lines from the first ghoap pacrim.

i'm really a draw the rest of the owl sort which is probably bad oop au hc wise— i don't tend to 1:1 adapt sources so, pacrim 141-verse is Price is building a special sort of jaeger team. one that are all drift compatible. it's not just a duo (or trio), every member is interchangeable with each other in a two pilot setup. (ie. Price, Gaz, Ghost, Soap) adaptability and improvisation is key to combat the kaiju as they develop further. their helmets ALL have the skull; Johnny's is red ofc, he just didn't have it on yet. tbh everyone has some unique plugsuit customizations to suit their personal comforts. experimental team perks. bonus tidbit: Soap n' Ghost originally piloted with their cousin/brother respectively (;

Johnny who makes a friend. Johnny who grows up, haunt magic shifting to cling to him. he's special. can't let him go. still joins the military, SAS, TF 141, becomes Soap (to his friend's amusement).

work week hell hole aah, please excuse okay, though, let's give both a whirl. [ WARNING: inherent witcher tragedy here ] Lambert - poor, starving, all he and his mother can do is pray the sperm-donor who beats them daily gets lost or eaten and never comes home. he almost does, but Vesemir shows up and plays a hero, law of surprise, you're going to Wolf school now kid, say goodbye to your mother who was the only kindness you've known. Wolf school is hard enough but also you'll probably die. - (not explicitly said, but by how much he remembers vs the others, Lambchop here was probably much older than most kids taken and put through the trials) - he's kinda bitter, I wonder why? - he makes a friend amongst all this! his friend dies to the trial of the medallion. - he's out of the gate, goes home, mom's dead. he kills his dad. - two different pogroms. there's only 4 Wolves left now, none from his "class," 1 being the man who he can claim ruined everything - he makes a Griffin friend! Coen dies against nilfguard. - he makes a Cat friend (and perhaps more than from the implications)! Aiden is murdered. - he wasn't ever alright and is certainly no saint, but he is willing to not condemn a person for being different and is willing give his life for his found-family. - he feels so damn much - and he keeps going Gezras - half-elf, sold off by dear ol' not-actual-dad to be experimented on. - a subsequent "batch" of Cat who was presumed dead, was not, thrown in a pile of those who actually where, climbed his way out, freed those in the vivisection waiting room, and escaped. - he's a kid btw. - he's kinda bitter, I wonder why? - they did wind up taking out all those mages btw. - okay, yes, they put more kids through the mutations still, but Gezras' caravan took in the unwanted: the women, the non-human, the discards from other schools. - he wasn't ever alright and is certainly no saint of a savior, but he was an open found-family to others who were "not good enough." - he feels so damn much - and he keeps going they both have are mad, prickly, and talk as they do (Gezras voice lines fwiw) but yet, there they go, picking up strays and taking people for their own merits, not those of others/deemed by others. people are who they are and they're not going to try to mold them into something else. are they kind? no, nope, absolutely not. good? also no, not really by a lot of definitions. it's really easy to take them at face-value, label Gezras "insane" and Lambert an asshole, and call it a day. but then you look at how they reacted to all this; what they do. that's sure a lot of their best to make sure others don't suffer as they have. there's real depth to what are supposed to be side and minor characters it's complicated. it's messy. it's brutal tbh. and I love them both for it. (don't get me wrong, I laid out a lot of similarities here but they're both different characters and I could go into THAT too, but I really tried to boil it down because oh no it's long)
