PIRATES!!! pt2!

So i just know Colt would be cool with having a woman on board his ship and sailing with her. But like what if hes got a few *really* superstitious crew members who absolutely believe every pirate superstition ever, especially the one where having a woman on board is bad luck. And Colt just knows that exposing you will make you the target for all of them. And maybe the reason he hasn’t kicked those guys to the curb yet is because Colt is still working up from being hurt. Hes not quite the captain he used to be… and the CREW KNOWS IT AND THEY CAN SMELL THE CHANCE FOR MUTINY!

Having Ryland be a navigator is amazing, and i think he would be great at it! Lime he totally learns the science of how the ocean and weather work and knows exactly how to get around a storm or even thru it without a scratch! But do not let him steer the ship, he will break everything. You cant even put him in a row boat without that man making himself go in circles. But pair him with Helmsman!Reader and they can do anything!

Colt: he totally is so chill about female crew members. he doesn't give a shit. but yes, def some super superstitious crew members on his ship. and on one hand he doesn't want you to get like thrown overboard and then on the other hand he doesn't want to cause too big of a commotion by exposing you and then keeping you around. he's going after this treasure in order to prove to himself that he can still do this and that he isn't weak but also he's still warming up after his injury and changed life. he's rusty. he's taking less risks. and this new crew he's got with him....oh they are definitely all looking at each other like "captain in a chair? no way. mutiny? mutiny? are we all thinking mutiny?" and maybe disguised reader gets in the loop on this and takes the information to colt. because you respect him. he knows this giant secret that could get you killed and is also treating you just like everyone else, just like you wanted. but for me it could be interesting.....if the mutiny does happen and you're discovered to be a woman at like the exact same time.....and you and colt are deserted on an island together with nothing but a gun and a bottle of rum between you.

Ryland: him with navigator!reader is actually everything to me. you're just as knowledgeable as him but can actually steer a ship. you let him do it once and end up lost for days - pretty sure you don't talk to him until you're back on track and the first thing you say to him is "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" and he's so bashful and rubbing the toe of his boot into the wood of the deck like ".....sorry. you did hand over the wheel though."

Sososo, pirate!Colt goes thru his trials and tribulations and comes to two conclusions:

1) he still really like you! And maybe he can convince you to betray Tom and help him get the treasure instead! (And rescue Dan and her he othe loyal members of Colt’s og crew)

2) the physical end of the segment of video game (lol) because there you are! And you’re alone!!

After a tearful reunion, that ends in being mad at each other for lying and secret keeping, Colt manages to spirit you away! He hasn’t completely gotten you on his side, but this is a start!

Also, imagining you and Colt coming across another puzzle while mad at each other, and Colt tells you to step back so ge can “handle this”

And you just watch Colt break things just enough to let you both thru. Lol

of course colt still likes you after you betrayed him like that. loverboy supreme knows you probably have a good reason. you didn't mean to lead him on and maybe.....just maybe you feel the same? cause you kissed him! and snuggled with him on that one cold night! you wouldn't do that with someone you hate...right?

after colt's "death" and entering some hidden temple and probably making camp for the night, you break off from tom's group to just.....go be by yourself for a second. to cry. to get yourself together enough to actually get tom his treasure so you can leave. forget this ever happened, if you even can at this point. but then who stumbles out of the brush? colt motherfuckin seavers.

do you slap him for scaring you like that? possibly. but colt just drags you into a hug anyway.

but yeah you both end up mad at each other after a hushed conversation, since you're not that far from camp. you explain that you did it to leave the pirate life. he explains that he would've helped you if you would have just told him. the situation is still awful and shitty, but at least all the cards are on the table. and maybe colt confesses his love for you on accident here because of course he would.

but then? what do you both overhear but tom ryder telling some other crew member that he was going to betray you right back! that you aren't going to get paid! he actually plans to kill you once the treasure is in hand!

so you steal away with colt to find the treasure first, knowing of a back entrance that tom doesn't. colt def brute forces his way through a puzzle, you're on a time crunch!

and honestly the brute forcing is.....kinda hot? rippling muscles. sweat. you watch from a safe distance just like 😳

I have some thoughts about Captain Colt Seavers!!!

So i like to think that after his “accident” Colt couldn’t in good conscience have his full crew stay with him. Not when they weren’t getting paid or even sailing regularly. So all but his most loyal buddies leave. Dan is the quartermaster and is Colt’s most loyal guy. (A quartermaster is the pirate equivalent of ‘first mate’ except they get to veto the captain if the crew disagrees with them)

But after nearly 2 years of nothing, Colt and co hear that that fucker Captain Tom Ryder has found the Key to this super cool treasure! They dont have the map, but the key can supposedly get them pretty far even without it. Colt on the other hand DOES have the map and has been saving it for a rainy day when he’s fully recovered, but he’ll be damned if Ryder gets to it first!!!

So Colt hires a new crew, Dan thinks a lot of them are pretty sketchy, but is willing to accept this cause they need a full crew to sail out. This sketchy crew also comes with you!

And im not sure how, maybe Colt catches you when you fall from the rigging or something, but he figures out you’re a woman. And maybe he doesn’t tell you he knows right away, like of COURSE he keeps the secret, but like why talk to you about it when you clearly dont want people to know!

But the ship makes it to the Island! But Fuck! Ryder is here too! And shit! This sketchy crew also APPARENTLY works for Ryder! SHIT!

But during the ensuing fight you and Colt get away! And you two get to have the fun treasure hunting adventure together! And you’re woman secret comes out and Colt is just like “its cool! 👍🏻” and it’s stupidly endearing! And you two get to fall in love doing all the fun, dangerous things together! (While Ryder and co force their way thru, like jerks)

Oh! But whats this?!? Ryder and co have cut off you and Colt on the way to the treasure! And whats this??? You are pulling out your gun and pointing it at Colt??? Why???? What could possibly have changed or happened for this to be the way things go???

yeah reader has been working with tom since the beginning. you're the one who recruited the rest of the sketchy crew that colt hires. you've been the main man on the inside the whole time. you just disguised yourself as a man cause you were unsure how colt would react to a woman on board.

at first, when tom hired you, it was solely for the money. nothing against colt. maybe you're saving up to start a new life or something, and what tom is paying is enough to make that happen. but the more time goes on, the more you hate yourself for what you're doing/going to do to colt. because he's so nice! and clearly just struggling to get back on his feet (literally and figuratively, i imagine that colt uses a wheelchair and crutches a lot of the time, but can walk on his own for short periods). but as much as you are a pirate and a thief, you are an honest pirate and thief. you swore to tom, so you will keep your word.

even though you really do fall in love with colt. even though you fucking hate yourself. none of it will matter once tom has the treasure. you'll get paid. leave the pirate life. and never see colt again.

you betray him. you point that gun at colt and move to tom's side with the key and map in hand and watch as just pure devastation comes over colt's face. does it make you cry? probably

"i'm so sorry," you tell colt as tom takes the key and the map.

but tom, that asshole, swings his arm around your shoulder and is all "this is way more emotional than i was expecting. what is going on here? did...did you...seriously fall in love with her, colt? she's been working for me this whole time!"

Okay ive had many thoughts today. Unfortunately a lot of them were about pirate captain Tom Ryder lol

Cause what im think for him in Colts story is this:

1) Ryder is the captain, the face of the operation, but Gail is the brains. She keeps everything running.

2) Ryder and Colt get mixed up A LOT. Like to the point where Colt did something but ir was actually Ryder and vice versa. And is the major reason why Ryder has a grudge against Colt and attempts to kill him in the first place

3) with the new information of Reader being a badass and willing working with Ryder to get the treasure, absolutely believe that Ryder thinks he and Reader are a thing. Even tho she keeps telling they aren’t.

that's alright. i also love these thoughts. they really flesh things out.

gail is definitely the brains behind ryder's operations. the man is as dumb as a rock i swear. he needs gail to tell him what to do, at least give him the big goal for him to achieve, cause i don't think she's actually on the ship.

maybe ryder is the captain and colt is the quartermaster on this like og ship that they were on together. they get mixed up a lot. ryder hates it. especially since colt is the one doing actual cool pirate shit all the time. taking ryder's spotlight as captain. so ryder stages this accident, colt is stuck on the mainland for a while, and then decides to captain a ship of his own! prove that he can do it himself!

and 10000000% ryder thinks him and reader are a thing!! he tells his crew that straight up sees the rejection like "she's just playing hard to get" and makes up this huge lie about how hard the two of you bang.

the fact that you actually fall in love with colt while running this con makes ryder so fucking furious

Separate ask because Captain Colt deserves to be separated from Ryder when possible lol

But like imagine with all the treasure hunting island “fun” going on (im personally imagining something along the lines of Uncharted, National Treasure, and Indian Jones in terms of escapades) its currently the longest time Colt has been without his crutches and hes doing pretty well! Like he certainly needs more breaks, but he aint dead yet!

Then also imagine you two have just gone thru a horrible near death experience for the both of you and adrenaline is running HIGH. And god, you are so fucking happy to see that Coot is alive after that stupid stunt, that you kiss him! And he’s kissing you! And maybe it takes a few minutes to really recover from both the near death and the exhilarating kiss.

And THEN you betray Colt with tears in your eyes. Watch as Ryders men try and restrain him, the ensuing scuffle, the grab for the map and key. Colt is able to grab the key, BUT OH NO! HES SO CLOSE TO FALLING OF THAT PRECARIOUS EDGE! And he does! Oh no! COLT IS DEAD FOR REALS THIS TIME GUYS!!!

No hes not! This is the section of the video game where Colt has his own misadventures and laments his troubles and does all the puzzles lol

i love love love all of this man

very much so an uncharted level adventure with puzzles and cliff climbing and clues. in many scenarios/aus (even the regular au with baby riley) i do really like the image of colt feeling that sudden weakness in his legs and reader assisting him, even thought he hates it. it's just yummy.

ANYWAY

i'm imagining the near death experience is a waterfall. you both tumble over to the sharp rocks at the bottom. like this legit SHOULD kill you both. so when you pop up out of the water, gasping for breath, struggling to the shore. you get there and you start frantically looking around for colt, at least for his body (you're not even thinking about the key and map at that point!), but then he touches your shoulder and oh my god he's alive. you just throw your arms around him and kiss him straight on the mouth.

AND THEN YOU THINK COLT ACTUALLY REALLY DIES????? after you've betrayed him!!! you thought, if you both could move on from this, if colt could move on, you would be able to live with yourself. but the last thing colt ever thought, ever felt, was your betrayal. and god it makes you feel so much worse about yourself.

but i legit absolutely love colt waking up with a groan in the jungle, it's raining, he's gotta go back up this mountain and find everybody. definitely a nathan drake "ah, crap" moment lol
