not naming any names here but i think some of my followers might be
very kind and sweet and beautiful and ones I love and care for very much
been in a bad mental state as of late. it hasn’t been fun.
and now of COURSE my chronic illness is flailing up OF COURSE it is
last night as I was trying to fall asleep I couldn’t stop thinking about geese getting chubby. Or at least losing muscle definition.
like Colt stops doing stunt work when Riley gets a little older and his back injury prevents him, and he softens up. he’s embarrassed about it at first, but working out is more and more difficult with his schedule and being a dad. But the way you grip at his hips and hold his belly are uh how do you say, worth it?
court who loses that muscle definition after leaving the cia and getting a real world job. Maybe something in construction or farming. His muscles are no longer honed to kill but trained to lift and hold. He starts looking strong in a different way. Bulkier. Softer around the edges because he’s not scrounging around for meals like a feral raccoon. He doesn’t even really notice until his clothes from before start to not fit. Shirts riding up and belts loosened. I think he actually likes it.

Its been a hot minute since pirate!Court and his crew got back to their ship. And everyone should be happy to be home, and they are! But… you aren’t with them! You brought so much life and light, and who made their captain blush like a school boy! THEY WANT YOU BACK GODDAMNIT! CAPTAIN?! WHY HAVENT WE RESCUED HER YET!?!?
Well the reason is: Lloyd really fucked the crew over. He took everything from the ship. So, Court, while planning a rescue operation, has to basically get everything back up from ground zero. That jerk wad stole all the treasure too!
And i like to think that the higher ups on the crew (the other Sierra agents lol) also know what Court is planning and are actively helping him figure out what to do. Like, you gave Court all the backstory stuff you had, and that man is using it ALL to figure out how to get you home!
But that planning get thrown out the window ine day at port. Cause words gotten around that theres gonna be a wedding SOONER rather than LATER. The groom is Lloyd and You are the bride.
After hearing that, the plan becomes rather simple.
On your wedding day, sitting alone in a room, wearing a beautiful gown is you. For the past …(check watch) … hot minute you’ve given your father nothing but hell. And the leash hes got on you has only gotten tighter. It was Lloyd’s idea to have the wedding sooner. But if you have to be here with them, then you’re determined to fight till it kills you.
But right now… alone in this room… hours before your unwanted wedding? You let yourself be hollow with grief.
And then the window opens, and there he is. Court is there extending a hand to you. Offering a life of freedom. A life you glad rush towards.
And before he can even say anything, you are in his arms.
“Get me the fuck away from here”
i love that the crew loves reader so much. the ship doesn't feel the same without you, even when they're back up to snuff and have supplies and a new sail. even though you were on the ship for such a short amount of time. you've changed everyone irrevocably. court most of all probably.
court and crew dock at some port village kinda close to where your dad is governor and that's where they hear the news. really some other crew member hears it first and comes running to court like "she's getting married! in two weeks!" the way court's face turns to stone. he knows that lloyd and your father are forcing this on you. he can just picture the way you've fought and the way you've been punished.
yeah that definitely moves up and speeds up their plans to rescue you.
i did some quick research on what a wedding dress could have looked like

you hear that thump behind you, you turn and....court is standing there. panting slightly from the climb. and at first you think it's a dream. and it takes you actually touching him to realize that you're not asleep. you're awake. he's here. and THAT'S when you crash into his arms, grip him so tight your nails leave indents, and tell him to take you away.
the plan court came up with is smart though. he brought some commoners clothes for you to wear so you could sneak out of your father's house. so you have to leave that beautiful dress behind....but not before you take the dagger from court's hip and slash it to pieces
The rest of my pirate!court thoughts:
So inevitably the ship does get attacked Lloyd. And while Court would have usually fucked shit up in the best way possible and gotten everyone away, he fucks up in the worst way because he’s trying to protect you the whole time! Not necessarily from the fighting, Court knows you can handle a fight. No he’s trying to make sure Lloyd doesn’t get you. Which screws everything up.
So the ship gets captured. The major players of Court’s crew are nabbed along with Court himself and you. And the pirate ship is looted of goods, then just the regular crew is left as the navy abandons it in the water and leaves them to die.
Lloyd would LOVE to just kill Court now, but hes needed alive for the bounty and trial and stuff. So all captured peoples are put in the brig. Except for you, who is escorted to Lloyds quarters and expected to behave.
And you do behave. For a nice long while just to gain enough trust to grant you some freedom on the ship. It takes a while, like 3 weeks or more, cause lloyd aint stupid. And by the time you are able to roam freely youre almost home.
But you’re still able to sneak out one night, slip into the brig and free Court and his crew mates. (This is the first time Court has seen you in a proper dress in a long time, and while he likes it, he perfers when you wear pirate clothes)
And as they all sneak into the lifeboats, Court asks you to come. But you tell him, no, that someone has to cover for them. And Court hates that hes letting you do this. So just as you start to forcibly lower the boat, he kisses you. Its barely there, hardly a graze of the lips. And then its gone.
Lloyd is of course furious when he learns what happened. And strongly believes that you were apart of the escape. But he cant hurt you the way he wants, at least not here, and not when you’re so close to seeing important people again. (Cant have you looking like a mess!) so for joe he’ll settle for hurting you in other ways…

cause court can't just hide you somewhere on the ship. number 1 you fucking hate that idea. and number 2 what if you're found during the fight and he doesn't even notice until you're gone? no. he needs you in sight at all times during this attack. and THAT getting them captured is just damn delicious.
lloyd's cabin is so much different than court's. More opulent, more comfortabel in some ways, and yet colder. there is a horrible tension between you and lloyd the entire three weeks you're stuck in there with him. you basically can have anything you want, any food, any novel, any material item. lloyd is weirdly treating you nicely because he thinks you've been miserable while being held captive on this ship. that he's your saviour. and you just let him think that. bide your time.
and UGH the KISS. the barely there you chase his lips for more KISS. then you just have to watch him lower the rowboat into the water and leave you!!!! and also on the other end of the ship two crew members are like "did they just kiss? i think they kissed." "how can you tell? it's pitch black out?" "but i think i - " anyway. it's devastating. neither of you regret it but you're also aching for more at this point.
here's the thing: i don't think lloyd is convinced you helped them escape at first. he thinks you are his damsel in distress! he thinks you hate those pirates because you've been acting that way around him for weeks! but then lloyd is legit about to kill this random crew member for helping court and you....you step in. you stop him, you admit to helping court and the rest of the crew and that you actually enjoyed being on that pirate ship because it was the furthest away from lloyd you could get.
but uh......what do you mean he'll hurt you in other ways for now? what ways????
Sososo, pirate!Colt goes thru his trials and tribulations and comes to two conclusions:
1) he still really like you! And maybe he can convince you to betray Tom and help him get the treasure instead! (And rescue Dan and her he othe loyal members of Colt’s og crew)
2) the physical end of the segment of video game (lol) because there you are! And you’re alone!!
After a tearful reunion, that ends in being mad at each other for lying and secret keeping, Colt manages to spirit you away! He hasn’t completely gotten you on his side, but this is a start!
Also, imagining you and Colt coming across another puzzle while mad at each other, and Colt tells you to step back so ge can “handle this”
And you just watch Colt break things just enough to let you both thru. Lol
of course colt still likes you after you betrayed him like that. loverboy supreme knows you probably have a good reason. you didn't mean to lead him on and maybe.....just maybe you feel the same? cause you kissed him! and snuggled with him on that one cold night! you wouldn't do that with someone you hate...right?
after colt's "death" and entering some hidden temple and probably making camp for the night, you break off from tom's group to just.....go be by yourself for a second. to cry. to get yourself together enough to actually get tom his treasure so you can leave. forget this ever happened, if you even can at this point. but then who stumbles out of the brush? colt motherfuckin seavers.
do you slap him for scaring you like that? possibly. but colt just drags you into a hug anyway.
but yeah you both end up mad at each other after a hushed conversation, since you're not that far from camp. you explain that you did it to leave the pirate life. he explains that he would've helped you if you would have just told him. the situation is still awful and shitty, but at least all the cards are on the table. and maybe colt confesses his love for you on accident here because of course he would.
but then? what do you both overhear but tom ryder telling some other crew member that he was going to betray you right back! that you aren't going to get paid! he actually plans to kill you once the treasure is in hand!
so you steal away with colt to find the treasure first, knowing of a back entrance that tom doesn't. colt def brute forces his way through a puzzle, you're on a time crunch!
and honestly the brute forcing is.....kinda hot? rippling muscles. sweat. you watch from a safe distance just like 😳
Pirate Captain!Court hates that he’s falling in love with you. He respects you, he really fucking does! You’ve not only acclimated amazingly to the pirate life, but also earned the friendship and loyalty of all his crew! You’re even teaching him how to read! You are an amazingly kind person! And Court hates you for it! Because he loves you!
This man is emotionally constipated and hates feeling soft!
And its in those quiet moments, before bed, during dinner, the early morning, hell, whenever you two are just in the Captains quarters together, that he cant help but fall even further.
Because the truth is; you know Court better than anyone else. You’ve managed to get more information about him, the real him, just by being yourself. And that Scares Court.
It doesn’t help that you think Court is absolutely hilarious. Because he makes these quite little jokes to himself, mostly just dry statements about the obvious things. And you somehow always manage to hear them. And now he’s making more jokes and saying them louder and now more people are hearing and laughing and its a vicious cycle of jokes!
Now, the first time Court actually sees you scared of something is when Lloyds ship is on the horizon. You weren’t even scared when he kidnapped you! You just yelled in his ear! But now you’re deathly quiet, biting your lip, and trembling up a storm.
these two are simply everything to me wowowowowow
and the reason reader is legit scared of lloyd and not court: because to her, before she met him, court was just a story! a fictional man that lloyd and her father liked to discuss. a story can't hurt you. but then of course you know for sure court isn't going to hurt you because as soon as you're on his ship he's ordering his men to be kind and gentle with you, and of course this reader would be like "oh so he's a softy. i can get away with so much shit with him."
whereas lloyd has hurt you. lloyd isn't scared to show you what he's capable of. especially since reader is a bit of a little shit, lloyd doesn't take that kind of behavior lightly. he promises, once you're married, that he was going to beat that out of you.
so maybe when you were sailing on your original ship you were running away! and the running away is made all the more wonderful because you get kidnapped by pirates (and fall in love)!
so when you finally recognize that ship that's been after you for a few days, you are immediately asking if there's anyway to go faster.
I’m now imagining treasure hunter!Colt and Indiana Jones!reader coming across a temple or smth that is LINED with booby traps. Like every other step something is set off. And while reader in very carefully trying to activate them from safe place or disarm them, Colt literally runs right in the fire.
“Alright I know how to avoid- COLT?!!”
*Run through a hallway. Gets shot at by a wall of arrows and jumps over a pillar of fire.*
“We’re good!” 😁👍
“…you’re on fire Colt.”
While tapping out the fire “Not the first time”
“There’s an arrowhead lodged in your side”

and it is very very good
colt is very used to just barrelling through historic sites that are holding something valuable. it hasn't killed him yet, so why change the process? you see him break one pillar and nearly burst into tears.
"This temple is over a thousand years old! have you no respect?"
"i have respect for my wallet"
and it takes colt a while to come around to your side of thinking. an adventure or two really. he starts respecting things and not immediately trying to break them because he doesn't wanna see you upset but also because yeah......that is a 1,000 year old thing that has been standing for that long.....and maybe that's cool to him now?
also more random thoughts about this au: i'm imagining that it's still like either the 1940s or something like that. indiana jones time lol because i just really love the idea. just gives the whole thing more aesthetic ya know?
had the random thought of reader in a kind of marion situation where she's kidnapped away from colt and forced to wear a wedding dress by some nazi creep. colt obvs rescues her eventually and is like "wow....you look really pretty" lol
ANYWAY
Okay, take the pirate!colt au and push it forward a couple hundred years and you have, instead: Treasure Hunter!Colt. And im talking Uncharted levels of treasure hunting fun!
You and him have been partners for a long time. You are the brains, and he is the brawn. He does all the crazy shit like climbing and jumping and getting shot at by the bad guys. You do all the crazy puzzles, translate inscriptions and maps, and also get shot at by bad guys!
There is sexual tension out the wazoo, but you two (well at least you are) determined to keep it professional! Tho Colt has absolutely been in love ever since you first started info dumping about pirates.
oh........oh this is everything to me actually
uncharted levels of treasure hunting uncharted levels of danger. parkour extremes. goons that need their necks snapped. being held at gun point. jumping from rooftop to rooftop, falling out of planes, legendary treasures that are definitely cursed kinda stuff.
love colt as like a full nathan drake, black market dealer/true treasure hunter guy. he loves the thrill of it. he's sold a lot of stuff to a lot of shady people. he doesn't give two shits about museums. but then there's you. VERY indiana jones type in my mind. a professor of history or anthropology, you care so much about historical sites and preservation. but i think you're both equally smart in terms of history, especially. reader is definitely better at puzzles though lol
i think you two meet because colt tries to steal something, a clue to a larger find, from your college's museum. you catch him in the act and get into a massive scuffle that you eventually win. you force him to tell you what he was stealing and what for, and of course colt gives it up cause uh.....he's already in love. and therefore your first adventure was born!
after that, you just keep ending up going on these massive treasure hunts together.
and 1000000% there is so much sexual tension between you. especially on those occasions where you have to share a train or boat cabin....tight quarters....only one bed.....patching up each other's wounds......yum
Separate ask because Captain Colt deserves to be separated from Ryder when possible lol
But like imagine with all the treasure hunting island “fun” going on (im personally imagining something along the lines of Uncharted, National Treasure, and Indian Jones in terms of escapades) its currently the longest time Colt has been without his crutches and hes doing pretty well! Like he certainly needs more breaks, but he aint dead yet!
Then also imagine you two have just gone thru a horrible near death experience for the both of you and adrenaline is running HIGH. And god, you are so fucking happy to see that Coot is alive after that stupid stunt, that you kiss him! And he’s kissing you! And maybe it takes a few minutes to really recover from both the near death and the exhilarating kiss.
And THEN you betray Colt with tears in your eyes. Watch as Ryders men try and restrain him, the ensuing scuffle, the grab for the map and key. Colt is able to grab the key, BUT OH NO! HES SO CLOSE TO FALLING OF THAT PRECARIOUS EDGE! And he does! Oh no! COLT IS DEAD FOR REALS THIS TIME GUYS!!!
No hes not! This is the section of the video game where Colt has his own misadventures and laments his troubles and does all the puzzles lol

very much so an uncharted level adventure with puzzles and cliff climbing and clues. in many scenarios/aus (even the regular au with baby riley) i do really like the image of colt feeling that sudden weakness in his legs and reader assisting him, even thought he hates it. it's just yummy.
ANYWAY
i'm imagining the near death experience is a waterfall. you both tumble over to the sharp rocks at the bottom. like this legit SHOULD kill you both. so when you pop up out of the water, gasping for breath, struggling to the shore. you get there and you start frantically looking around for colt, at least for his body (you're not even thinking about the key and map at that point!), but then he touches your shoulder and oh my god he's alive. you just throw your arms around him and kiss him straight on the mouth.
AND THEN YOU THINK COLT ACTUALLY REALLY DIES????? after you've betrayed him!!! you thought, if you both could move on from this, if colt could move on, you would be able to live with yourself. but the last thing colt ever thought, ever felt, was your betrayal. and god it makes you feel so much worse about yourself.
but i legit absolutely love colt waking up with a groan in the jungle, it's raining, he's gotta go back up this mountain and find everybody. definitely a nathan drake "ah, crap" moment lol

Okay ive had many thoughts today. Unfortunately a lot of them were about pirate captain Tom Ryder lol
Cause what im think for him in Colts story is this:
1) Ryder is the captain, the face of the operation, but Gail is the brains. She keeps everything running.
2) Ryder and Colt get mixed up A LOT. Like to the point where Colt did something but ir was actually Ryder and vice versa. And is the major reason why Ryder has a grudge against Colt and attempts to kill him in the first place
3) with the new information of Reader being a badass and willing working with Ryder to get the treasure, absolutely believe that Ryder thinks he and Reader are a thing. Even tho she keeps telling they aren’t.
that's alright. i also love these thoughts. they really flesh things out.
gail is definitely the brains behind ryder's operations. the man is as dumb as a rock i swear. he needs gail to tell him what to do, at least give him the big goal for him to achieve, cause i don't think she's actually on the ship.
maybe ryder is the captain and colt is the quartermaster on this like og ship that they were on together. they get mixed up a lot. ryder hates it. especially since colt is the one doing actual cool pirate shit all the time. taking ryder's spotlight as captain. so ryder stages this accident, colt is stuck on the mainland for a while, and then decides to captain a ship of his own! prove that he can do it himself!
and 10000000% ryder thinks him and reader are a thing!! he tells his crew that straight up sees the rejection like "she's just playing hard to get" and makes up this huge lie about how hard the two of you bang.
the fact that you actually fall in love with colt while running this con makes ryder so fucking furious
