A naked young man was tied to the four-poster bed, blind-folded and kneeling forward with his arms around a pillow. His hands were bound at the wrists. His long brown hair was loose and pooling onto the sheets ahead of him. The knot that tied his wrists was intricate but functional; a sailor’s knot. At the sound of footsteps, he stirred slightly, seemly listening for danger, but staying silent.
