48-Hours in Counting...
The week of the 8th was my busiest week yet. Tuesday the 9th marked the first ever Korean Startup Pitch Night and Thursday was my first PitchForce! PitchForce is a series of monthly pitch events that I am responsible for running as a part of my internship with Max.
Here’s how it works: Ten companies are chosen each month to participate in PitchForce. Presenting companies will each have a demo table to have the opportunity to meet and network with angels, VCs and guests during the first hour. Attendees will then vote for their favorite company, and the top four will get to present to a distinguished panel of VCs and Angels. The panel then chooses who they feel is the most promising startup. The winner gets a meeting with our Sponsoring Venture Capitalist.
This PitchForce WiShi took first, an in-house Runway company! To close, here are two things I've learned:
Pitching: use Guy Kawasaki's 10-20-30 rule
Financial Projections: BE OPTIMISTIC and use a 5 year projection
