it’s funny because they say that mel fans “victimise” and “infantalise/baby” mel when they bring up aspects of her ASD and how that impacts her emotions and her relationships at work, but if you bring up literally anything that santos has every done its never actually her fault according to them and it’s always part of her trauma (not her personality) and therefore not something you can criticise her for. they say they love flawed characters and they say they like her for her meanness but simultaneously insist she is the victim in every scenario and that she’s not actually mean at all.
Speaking of santos, I want to give my opinion here:
She's been living with Whitaker for 10 months and still can't open up to him and tell him what's bothering her. I love her as a character, but I expected at least a sibling-like bond between them, but she just won't let her guard down. Let's admit it, she's a little toxic. Anyway, we love her, and I didn't see her being rude or mean to Mel this week; she was just stressed. But her behavior with Whitaker surprised me.
