Moonlight peaks through the curtains inside the dark room, while intense heat fills the air. A forbidden intimacy, sinners. That is what others would say if they saw the famous preacher’s beloved daughter under the monstrous creature, panting praises like a choir.
The said creature, piercing blue eyes looking down at you, his claws holding down your waist. Air leaves his lungs as he feels you around him, slowly moving his hips, careful not to make it painful, like you are made of porcelain.
Reaching for his scaled face, you caress his cheek with soft affection. Staring at him with your devoted eyes, stars filling your pupils with admiration.
You felt him move— harsher. Looking deep into your eyes, he kissed you with his snake-like tongue. You let yourself submit to his greed, feeling his euphoric touch melting your soul.
Trailing kisses on your neck to the inner of your chest. “That’s it, devote yourself to me and I’ll give you the salvation you desire.” He whispered, sending shivers down your spine, shaping it into an arch.
You let out a gasp, moaning his name. hell’s fire fueled both your hearts as you gripped him with thirst. He’s opening the gates of hell with his hand around your heart, and you will gladly step in just for him.
The morning after that wasn’t so easy; he was nowhere to be found, as usual, but you felt clean; he probably cleaned you. It’s usually like that. He will enter your home, take you. Then leave. It was a rule you told him: leave quickly, quietly, and don’t get seen, and pretend this never happened.
Outside, you pretend you don’t know him, the neighborhood’s outcast. Smiling at everyone. You are the epitome of angels; that’s what everyone says about you.
But they don’t know what you are behind that pretty pale dress. An alcoholic, pathetic woman, always covering yourself with thick layers of makeup and shiny accessories to make them believe your unhealthy lifestyle doesn’t exist.
You are tired of being people’s puppet, but you can’t stop. The attention you get from your parents and people around you makes it addictive. You worked so hard to build this character; you are not letting yourself fall.
Even if it means ignoring the only person you truly love.
You met him behind the church, the tree’s shadows covering him with a soft touch while the sun grazes his features in a dreamy touch. He’s the most beautiful man you've ever laid your eyes on. Tall, pale skin, silver hair, and a set of eyes that not even a diamond can compare.
His eyes landed on yours; it made your legs weak. He’s devouring you without doing anything. It’s been months since Red Grave City was destroyed and is now rebuilding itself, so you expected new faces around.
You walked up to him with an angelic smile, your voice calmly greeting him. “Hello, sir. You must be new to this part of the city?” He only looked at you for a few seconds and left.
Since that day, you have kept talking to him. You have seen him around places where people usually do not go, like the place where your setup began, at the old, destroyed church in the city. You were sent here by your father to check the place for repairs; people in your church are trying to expand their reach to spread the word of god.
He’s there, sitting down at one of the broken pews with a book in hand. His eyes instantly shot up to look at you; he frowned. He suddenly stood up, but you didn’t let him walk away.
Stepping in front of him, “Hi, sir! Nice to see you again!” You grinned; he tried to leave, but you blocked him again. “Why?” He uttered, giving up. “It’s great to see- " you started, but he stopped you. “Not that; why do you persist so much in indulging yourself in meaningless chatter?” He scowled.
You stared at him in surprise; no one had resisted your charm before. Maybe that’s why you are drawn to him; he never sees you as someone’s daughter. A normal person- that’s what you are to him.
Most people only talk to you because of the facade you live in, the status on your back. Not him; he avoids you. This made you grin. Staring at him, you hovered your hand on his shoulders to see if he would push it away.
He didn’t; you gently placed it on his shoulder, caressing him. He just stared at you, but something in his eyes shifted. It became more highlighted, hunger consuming his vision.
“I want to get to know you… So will you let me?” You murmured, eyes shining under the sunlit chapel. He looked at your lips, then to your eyes. “I have doubts that you can handle me.” He stated, face nearing yours.
“We wouldn’t know if we don’t test it, right? Mr…?” You said, now both your arms surrounding his shoulder like a snake caging him, urging him to bite the apple.
You felt his gloved hands on your waist, placing you on the altar with your hands still wrapped around him.
“Vergil,” He said, closing the gap between you two.
Now you are on your bed, makeup melting from the tears coming out of your eyes. Dressed only in your undergarments, a bottle in your hand, and others around the room. You are a mess right now; your feelings for him are undeniably painful.
When you saw him near the farm with a black-haired beauty, you felt everything break. The weakness crept into your heart; you felt the air leave your lungs. He’s not talking to her; it seems like they’re waiting for something. You've never seen him with anyone before, so she must be special to stay near him like that.
You feel like you are going insane because of jealousy. But you can’t really do anything about it; you are the one who always pushes him away. ‘To relieve each other’ were your words to him when you both started whatever was going on between the two of you.
Your parents are not home, so you can get wasted for the rest of the week. After seeing Vergil with that woman, you avoided him at all costs. Refusing to admit your true feelings to him, you can’t burden him with your blues.
But before you could drown even more in your sorrow, a knock on the door was heard. It can’t be your parents or anyone from your friends; you told them you were sick, so they won’t try to visit you.
Quickly disposing of the bottles under your bed, wrapping yourself with the sheet, then spraying yourself with a lot of perfume. Taking a wet wipe to clean your makeup. You answered the door, revealing the only person you least wanted to see right now.
“Vergil…” You muttered at the tall figure. “I can’t right now; you see, I’m sick,” you continued, fake coughing on the sheet you surrounded yourself with.
He doesn’t look like he buys it. “What is it?” He said, staring at your eyes. “Huh?” You questioned, “Talk to me.” He said. “Maybe not today, Vergil.” You muttered, looking everywhere but him, pushing him away gently.
He didn’t budge. “You are avoiding me, so I am here to get answers,” he said, staring deep into your eyes. It seemed like your body was betraying you when tears formed in your eyes; this caused Vergil to place his hand on your cheek.
You felt your body melt, throwing yourself into his arms. He held you like a delicate flower. His comforting embrace, like a warm blanket in the middle of cold storms. You always craved this; no one was really there to comfort you.
You learned not to ask your family for comfort; they always say, 'Just pray the problems away', or 'Everyone experiences the same hard situations', so you just have to suck it up. They never hesitate to call you weak for having feelings.
But with Vergil, he listens, lets you pour your heart out without making you feel bad for having emotions. He refuses to acknowledge it, but there is a good man in him.
Vergil slowly lifted you up with the blanket, walking inside your house, kicking the door, and quickly locking it. He didn’t say anything, just headed up to your room. Placing you down in a gentle manner, his movement stopped, then he crouched down, seeing your used bottles.
This made you embarrassed. “What?” you sneered, grabbing the blanket covering yourself fully. He didn’t say anything, but you heard clanking noises and your door opening.
You felt the liquid starting to affect you, eyes getting heavy as you let yourself drown in slumber.
You woke up with a weight around your waist, opened your eyes, and there he is with his heavy coat and vest discarded, leaving him with no upper clothing. He is sleeping peacefully.
You stared at him, this domestic setup making your heart flutter with joy, but it also scared you. If you stay long enough in this situation, you might crave more. So you decided to slowly release yourself from his arms. However, before you could further remove yourself, his arms tightened, placing you back in his strong embrace.
Sapphire eyes stared down at you. “Are you going to tell me now, or are we going to continue that cat-and-mouse chase?” He muttered.
You let out a sigh, burying yourself in his arms— head on his chest. “Who’s that lady with you first, at the farm yesterday?” You muttered.
He didn’t answer for a few seconds, but then he let out a deep chuckle. “That was my brother’s friend; we were waiting for that fool.”
You glared at him, “Is she, you know…?” He just looked at you blankly.
It’s probably liquid courage, but you had a sudden urge to tell him. “I think I love you,” you said, staring deep into his oceanic eyes. He didn’t react, but he repositioned you both, with him on top while you wrapped your legs around his waist.
Shadow casting on his stoic features, but you can see a slight shift of colors in his skin. He’s blushing like a loser; it gave you a confidence boost.
You gave him a sly smirk, wrapping your arms around his neck, making him lean down closer to your face.
“Is the big strong man getting shy?” You teased, but before you could retort with more insults.
He kissed you like he yearned for this moment, his hands gently caressing your back and legs as he deepened the kiss. “You are tolerable.” He said when he pulled away; you smiled. “That’s big coming from you.”
“I will make sure you get it inside that brain of yours.”
A/N: I hope this one is a decent read. Thank you for reading! This is set after the events in DMC5 and is also very inspired by Hayden/Ethel Cain's album 'Preacher's Daughter' but does not follow Ethel Cain's Story.
