I saw @thylacid ‘s super cool designs from a while ago called Pitwings and they really inspired me to try my hand at them!
I had a few questions about these guys you’ve created! But please don’t feel pressured to answer if you don’t want to! :)
Here’s my gaggle of sons I’ve created!
This is Kidney! He’s the oldest of the three Pitwing brothers, and considers himself the most capable to make decisions. He was the first one I designed and the one I’m most happy with. :)
Appendix is the smallest of the three brothers and the most agile! I struggled to make him, as smaller creatures have never been my forte.
Heart is the largest of the three brothers. He strives to protect his siblings, but sometimes Kidney and heart have disagreements on leadership decisions.
As always until I figure out a better way please ignore, the crunchy quality of my pictures. ;)
When a I said “a few” I lied it’s a lot, I couldn’t help myself they seem so Interesting! :>
Are Pitwings solitary, or do they live in groups or pack like situations, if so do they have close family bonds or sibling relationships?
The spikes and armor like plating on the Pitwing’s backs suggest they need protection, would it be protection from other Pitwings or another being (or group) that hunt the Pitwing’s?
The plating and spikes on the Pitwings backs are white, would this mean there are bones in the flesh pit that provide camouflage for them to lay down on?
Are there other sentient creatures that live in the flesh pit with them?
Do the Pitwing’s have a form of communication, verbal or something else?
I’m a sucker for antenna in creature design, combined with being blind does this mean there is low or no lighting in the flesh pit?
Do Pitwings need water/ is there any sources of fresh water in the flesh pit?
Does the thin layer of fuzz like substance between the layer of armor plating and skin have a purpose or is it simply for design?
I love creepy crawlies on the cave walls, and how it plays into their design!!
Are they more inclined to crawling on the wall, or do they prefer flying for moving?
Is the flesh pit big enough for them to fly long distances, and how does being blind affect navigating the flesh pit?
Do Pitwings have a lot of diversity in the group, and if so how large is the Pitwings population?
Sorry to bother you with all that, I totally understand if you don’t have answers for these, but I am enamored with them!!
