It’s been about 4 hours and I’m beginning to worry about my brother, when a couple of hikers appear at the top of the pass shouting out my name. I shout back and they say, “Your bother said to tell you he’s run out of gas. He’s camping a upper Piute Lake and you can hike down or stay up here.” I say thanks and decide to stay up high and just meet him at the pass in the morning.
