  “It’s not a phase, Mom!”

  Mary Platt, much to their mother’s dismay, hates frilly dresses, anything having to do with the colour pink, pop music, and, most importantly, their parents. Their parents are the ones sending them off to Camp of Misfits, after all. Mary would much rather go to Hot Topic to buy that checkered studded belt they’ve been eyeing since receiving their last allowance. But that’s going to have to wait.

  Mary has been called “difficult”, “scary”, and “Satan themself” by teachers and classmates, but Mary doesn’t mind. They’re compliments, right? Honestly, Mary’s parents just don’t know what to do with them anymore. They’re handing them off to someone else to deal with for the summer, with the hopes that this camp can bring back the sweet child they once knew. Truth be told they didn’t really read the brochure past “Is your family member getting on your last nerve?”
