Just wanted to pop by and say I love your sims gameplay and how bright and colourful everything is! ❤️ I also wanted to ask how you decide your sims aesthetic/cosmetics/sexuality?

I have a fairly long answer so I'll include it below the cut!!

aesthetics ✨

I'm not sure how noticeable this is, but each sim of mine has a color scheme that includes 2-3 colors!! 🎨

One of the colors is always their favorite color

The others are just colors I think look best with their favorite color!

for example: Lena's favorite color color was green so I started her out in mostly green outfits & then figured out I liked purple & green together for her! As she got older, I also added a bit of red to her outfits for something different.

For the "style" of outfits I mostly rely on traits!!

some examples:

any neat or perfectionist sim wouldn't wear distressed or grungy clothes

loser sims wouldn't have the most fashionable clothes

couch potato sims would mostly wear sweats or other lounge clothes

frugal sims would likely re-wear the same clothes, so I try to reuse the same items whenever they get a makeover

Some of my teenage sims also go through "phases" that impact their aesthetic -- this is from @simspaghetti's gameplay rules!!

for example: Aharon has a color scheme of brown, red, & blue

I gave him a more chill and laid back outfit vibe because he has the angler trait 🐟

BUT he rolled the emo/goth phase when he aged up so I leaned into darker color clothes that are stereotypically goth for his teen years 💀

However, when he aged up he wanted to be in the political career so I gave him a more preppy look in his original color scheme!!

cosmetics 👓

All of my sim's cosmetics are rolled from @ simspaghetti's gameplay rules that is already linked above!! I mostly just use the teeth & glasses they have linked!!

glasses:

Each age stage has a different chance of chance of giving your sim's glasses with the chance being higher the older the sim gets

if I really feel like a sim would not wear glasses, I either wait until they're old enough to give them contacts or I just act like they never rolled it 🤣

teeth:

The only roll that I really do for this is when the sim ages up into a child -- if they roll a 7-14, they get perfect teeth

Anything below that means they get non-perfect teeth that can either be corrected with braces when they're older or they can keep the non-perfect teeth if they can't afford braces or it just fits them!

sexuality 🎲

Once again, I get this from @ simspaghetti and their nraas guide!! I just let each sim's sexuality randomly generate whenever they age up to a teenager!!

Glad you enjoy my silly gameplay ♥ I think I play on normal lifespan? preset but I like to adjust each stage manually so in total each sim live up to around 80 days. It's never a permanent thing for me, heavily depends on my current gameplay (so if I'm having way too much fun with my ya I will extend the time till their birthday) but it looks like this rn

She smokes and drinks, though not excessively.

She’s a sugar baby that mostly goes for older men.

Even though her life is a mess, she’s getting decent grades.

Besides a “co-worker” or two, she has no friends.
