PixelSkin HD by Speck (iPhone 4/4S)
The PixelSkin HD is a great, grippy TPU iPhone 4/4S case by Speck. It provides all round protection, while having a few minor flaws.
Since purchasing my case, Speck have modified the camera cut out to be much larger.
After using this case for a large amount of time, I've been quite happy with it's all-round protection, as well as the general loo of the device. It doesn't add too much bulk and isn't too expensive.
Getting the case on and off is one of my main concerns, as it is a very difficult process. I would not recommend this case to someone who frequently changes their mind, as this is not a simple process. With my experience of this case, I found it best to wriggle the top corners of the iPhone out of the case separately, before sliding the rest of it out.
Durability
The case does a great job against daily scratches, scuffs and drops. The TPU material allows for a snug fit, so there is no need to worry about lint entering the case. The textured back of the PixelSkin HD is another great feature, as the chances of the iPhone slipping out of the users hands is minimal.
Speck have also included practical cut-outs for the 3.5mm jack, mute switch and data connector. These do not limit compatibility with many popular accessories, although I would stray from this case if connection to a iPhone dock is a must - as it is a difficult product to continually remove.
Style
The PixelSkin HD comes in a variety of colours, highlighting the stylish backing. If you are after a simplistic design, then this case fits the bill nicely. The slim nature of the case is another highlight, as only a minimal amount of bulk is added to the iPhone.
Feel
The overall feel of the case is great. It's textured, slimline and nice to hold. One of my main annoyances of this case is the power/lock button. With the case on, the 'click' of this button disappears, and becomes much harder to press.
The PixelSkin HD's TPU material is also great as you don't have to worry about the case stretching or changing shape over time. It will hold it's look for a long time to come. I have the black colour, meaning most dirt on the case is not visible. The reviews on the Speck website outline that some of the brighter cases become dirty fast, and are hard to clean.
Overall
All in all, Speck have done a great job with this case. It is a great design and feels great. Despite the cons relating to the power/lock button and removal of the case, I would recommend it to those in need of basic protection.
