As for the CAS backgrounds, there are CC backgrounds that you install in your mods folder (can't give you the links unfortunately, I'm on mobile), or you can use free Photoshop analogs like GIMP or Paint.net.

1. Be sure that you have the mesh if they're recolors and that the script mods enabled options is ticked 2. You can download gimp for free or check on YouTube for the free version of Photoshop CS5, but I know that CS2 was released for free by Adobe
omg, i didn’t even think the script mods option was related at all. i have gimp, but at the moment i have no idea how to use it hahaha. i’ll probs watch a few tutorials or something. and would i be able to do the same thing with CS2? or is it only possible with CS5?

CC can not showing for several reasons, one of them being mesh absence (in case you downloaded some recolours that don't include the mesh but didn't download the mesh), the other being necessary game update absence.
ah! it must be the lack of mesh!

1. check the CC you downloaded and make sure stuff isn't required. 2. GIMP!! gimp is the free version of PS and it works amazingly :) (sometimes better then PS)
hehe i have gimp but i was scared to use it. i’ll watch some tutorials and see how it’s done :)
