Yeah it really doesn’t make a lot of sense, although I do feel that Animal Kingdom is in desperate need of expansion. Personally, I think a marvel themed area would be AWESOME. (Not that that’s animal related, but you know) :P
one of the things that struck me about avatar the first time i watched it is how similar it is to pocahontas, plot-wise. they could set up a pocahontas-themed expansion that would have the same basic message that avatar does, and it's actually a disney movie relevant to a disney park.

I feel the same way, yet this has been planned for a few years now and only really made “public” recently.
i just don't get why they chose this movie. everyone pretty much stopped caring about avatar like a year after it came out so adding this expansion doesn't seem like something that will draw very many people. maybe if they had done the expansion back in 2009 when the movie was actually relevant, but not now
