i haven't done him yet :D here's beshte!!

he's so great i love him. literally the sweetest in the show. there is not a single episode or moment where i don't like him, he's just that good

even his concept is great. c'mon, an extremely dangerous herbivore who's actually the sweetest animal ever and wouldn't hurt a fly without saying sorry? genius. i especially love his interactions with villains! he's always the one who cares about animals who couldn't give a shit about him or the guard: asking janja's clan if they were okay after the mud/rock slide, telling the skinks to escape, trying to reason with kiburi/makuu, freeing goigoi when the guard promised they would, and countless other instances. i think that's what truly makes his character for me; he will ALWAYS protect his friends, the guard, first but after that he's a friend to literally everyone even if they're not friendly to him. hell, i have headcannons that he gets along well with chungu and cheezi as well as nduli after they reform, because my man just doesn't hold grudges!

to put it short, he's simply the best guy ever and i genuinely think he's an interesting character who i could watch an entire show from his perspective :) /gen, vpos

ok but i'm starting to read bunga as autistic coded tbh. what are your thoughts?

i've been thinking about this for hours after this was sent to my inbox and you know what? i kinda love it /gen, pos

thinking about it, so many things bunga does could be read as signs of autism. take what i say with a grain of salt because while i suspect i'm autistic i haven't got a professional diagnosis. i do not intend to stereotype but instead share some thoughts based on the research i've done and my own personal experiences with autism. nonetheless here are some initial thoughts:

bunga misses quite a few social cues. for instance, this

his "bravery" could be read as him not actually perceiving the danger of certain circumstances

i know it's because he's a honey badger, but him preferring to live by himself. he perceives/d himself as not needing anybody because he can sustain himself

bunga seems to miscommunicate sometimes, i guess the best example being his episode with simba

he can also be seen as "cold" or "harsh" (not the words i'm looking for but i can't think of the right ones rn-), such as when he's like "So it's all your fault" and "Ono, you really messed up" and many other instances. he's not intentionally being mean to ono, he's just trying to understand the situation

i could go on and on but this is what i've got off the top of my head :] honestly this is a neat thought and i'm probably gonna adopt it into my headcannons!!

gonna be controversial but bunga for the character bingo?

sure!

he IS a bastard, but i don't hate him! honestly, i think he allows for good comic relief. sure, i definitely see him as annoying in certain eps but he's actually a pretty funny character at the end of the day

i love that he's timon and pumbaa's son, and i love that he has hints of them! it's a really clever way of bringing back timon and pumbaa's comedy without actually having them in every ep, because bunga fills that role in the show

i think he peaks in season 3. when i say he has a solid character design, i solely mean his aging up. his characterisation peaks then too. i could care less about him and binga but somehow i don't find his ‘arc’ boring. he's just... a Good Character ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

so, yeah. somehow i have more to say about a character i think about almost never in comparison to characters who have Taken My Brain Hostage (/silly), but i did want to express that: while i find bunga annoying, he's still good and the show wouldn't be the same without him

THEM. THEMMMMM. I LOVE THEM

they are the silliest of sillies and i adore them in every episode, in particular the ones where they're sorta-not-bad-guys like in Janja's New Crew, where they're just plain adorable. i love their interactions with janja sm as well as the other characters. i have so many cute headcannons for them in the reformed outlands and always feel a happiness overload whenever nikki tells me her ideas for them :3

no one asked BUT my favourite scene of them is in The Zebra Mastermind when they find goigoi :] chungu asking what's up with him is so sweet to me, their expressions are also gold in that episode
