antidepressants have a bad rep so she prob thought it would do you more harm than good. i’ve had this convo an annoying number of times and it stems from a complete misunderstanding of how mental healthcare works and on the other hand fuck tons of people drink alcohol, a drug widely used BECAUSE it makes people overly peppy despite it being on the whole, entirely unhealthy with risk of addiction. so there’s that chestnut

yeah, i think that was the reason too! i don’t really think she wanted to tell me i should be unhappy lmao, it was just .....all of what you said plus unfortunate wording. i get that she’s worried but also??? i don’t think you should tell people to take or not take them if all you’re knowledge about it is based on rumours or whatever?? and yeah lol, the alcohol thing is so true. interesting tho how she is okay with our other friends taking all kinds of drugs but when i want to take M E D I C A T I O N, something that is supposed to help me it’s suddenly Bad(tm)
