weirdly enough, even though it is rewarding to see SecUnit expand on its pre-existing relationships with reoccurring characters... there's something really fascinating about SecUnit making all these emotional connections over the course of one story, only to inevitably choose to leave them all behind by its end.
it's the wonder (what if you did stay, what if it did work out) versus the flinch, that i really loved about those first few books.
it deciding to give Preservation a chance is proof of how much it's grown, but i wouldn't have minded a few more wandering SecUnit stories set before Exit Strategy.
do you ever wonder if the reason SecUnit never talks about music in-depth (besides the obvious) is because a lot of it is still about sex and romance
