It was never supposed to end up like this. He was attractive and a gentleman. He was a great person to talk to as well but she wasn’t supposed to be involved with him. He was just a model at her show and he was linked to multiple women but she never thought she would be on the list. Having signed herself up on to this mess. 

Stupid, right? Bora likes bad boys and he seems to like pretty girls. Park Jimin never failed to make her feel pretty and she was too broken to settle for those words but then things followed. Him telling her she’s important and she’s all he needs. She stays, knowing she started something she can’t end without dragging both of them to hell. 

Rumors had sparked up that Jimin was seeing someone despite having been linked to his co-star who seems to know better that Bora is just no ‘good friend’ of Jimin. Even when her name was brought up, it was easily dismissed as they have always been seen as good friends by the press. So during one of the after party of a successful fashion show, both of them were invited and so was this certain co-star of his that seems to dislike Bora more and more when she’s near Jimin but like he said, Bora is his favorite girl. Bora knows these kinds of lies but it’s nice to hear about it. Settling for the stolen moments when the rest of the world is totally unaware. 

When he walked towards her while she held her glass of champagne, she sports that friendly smile to keep the cameras from looking their way and taking pictures. Her smile was friendly and so was her tone but her words weren’t. “Your on-screen girlfriend has been trying to kill me with her gaze. I won’t be surprised she would’ve mentally murdered me in a dozen different ways already.” Chuckling as she raises her glass at him. “To the five more seconds of being alone with you before she comes up to take you from me.”

So far, Jiyong would call it a good day. Not because of the sun that was slowly breaking through the clouds that had been hanging above the city for a few days now but rather due to the fact that nothing bad had happened to him yet. Lately he was waking up as well as falling asleep to not too great news. Hopefully his mood would stay decent for a longer while, though something was telling him that it all could go down any time soon. Maybe he was simply used to a sudden turn of events.

After going out to grab a cup of iced coffee, since he always claimed that the one brewed at home didn’t taste the same, he was back in the apartment complex in a quarter. Sipping on his drink through a straw, Jiyong’s steps led him towards the mailboxes instead of the elevator first. He was expecting no letters, yet he would forget to check it later on. Getting a key from the bottom of his pants pocket, where it was nesting among several coins, he opened the mailbox with the number 902 on it. Looking inside, he swiftly took out the sole envelope resting in there before closing it and turning on his heel.

Raising his gaze, he almost dropped the beverage upon seeing a man way too familiar. It was no struggle to recall his name. Park Jimin. His eyes focused on him and his body seemed to be unable to make the littlest movement. And how he wished to run away. But he found himself glaring at the other male as the memories overflowed him within mere seconds. Holding his breath, Jiyong stood idly with his mouth slightly agape.

Sungjoon is nothing if not meticulous. Therefore, it happens in a series of steps, and for that, at least, he cannot fault it.

It begins as follows:

                                                        🕐 08:34AM - Jimin leaves his apartment.

Sungjoon knows this; the cameras he has placed intermittently around and inside Jimin’s apartment tell him as much. He watches over his morning cup of tea as Jimin rushes to leave; his hair’s a mess, and at the time, he makes a mental note to scold him for it later.

( — steam fogs up his reading glasses, drops of condensation forming on the cool surface. he leaves the periphery. sungjoon is at peace. )

                                                   🕐 09:22AM - Jimin doesn’t show up to his shoot.

This is the first warning bell: a buzz from his phone signalling a text from his informant. Jimin has yet to arrive at the studio for his scheduled shoot, structured to begin at 9AM, sharp.

Sungjoon stands, smoothing down his already crisp jacket. The elevator ride down one floor to Jimin’s apartment is a short one, but an inconvenience nonetheless. Jimin will come to regret it later.

( —the carpet slides under his soles, eyes trained on the twin doors at the end of the hall. he picks the door he knows. )

                                                           🕐 09:26AM - Jimin changes his locks.

Sungjoon stops. He must be wrong, but that’s can’t be right; he knows this door, knows the movement of his fingers like a second skin, one he’s grown quite accustomed to. So no, he is not wrong.

But the door also doesn’t open.

The second warning bell goes off, and he sees red behind his eyes when he blinks. He doesn’t recall walking back to the elevator, but he must have because the doors open to the main floor of the building.

( — no one questions him when he asks for the new code. they are just as scared of him as they should be. he is fire, after all. fire with shining teeth. )

                                                   🕐 09:37AM - Sungjoon breaks down the door.

He looks through the apartment, searching for something, something he missed, but there’s nothing. No clothes strewn across the floor, no hastily packed objects or fallen furniture.

( — but jimin is not here. and jimin is not where he should be. sungjoon sees destruction and creates it. )
