"But you're here and that's all that matters"
yoongi has been hiding from this, from him, for what feels like weeks when in reality, it’s only been a couple of days. six days at most. he couldn’t contain the emotions stirring inside him any longer, churning around and around in an endless cycle, making the older want to vomit from all the stress it was causing. he knew from the get-go how horribly in love he was. so utterly, and hopelessly in love that it hurt to even think about how much love he had stored within.
it’s felt like months to min yoongi when he appears in front of park jimin’s doorstep one sunday morning, chewing on his bottom lip like the nervous wreck he is, because after all, he is not what everyone, even himself, thinks and claims that he is. no, he is not a cold hearted, self-absorbed jerk. he has feelings too, regardless of the front that he puts up to the world.
years. it feels like years when the door finally swings open, revealing the sleepy orange-haired kid that he adores so much rubbing at his eyes. the sight causes yoongi’s beating heart to swoon, almond eyes softening at the edges. jimin is fully awake by the time he notices who the piece of shit is that came knocking at nine o’ clock in the morning, and yoongi doesn’t notice the hug that knocks the air out of his lungs coming until it happens.
he hears the quiet sobs and feels (because he’s been feeling too many things at too many times recently) the tears that fall onto the crook of his neck, it takes everything in him not to cry along. “i’m sorry, jimin, i’m so sorry for keeping away,” is all he manages to croak out. the boys cling onto each other, not once the thought of making a scene outside in the hall crossing their minds.
it’s not until jimin replies softly, “but you’re here and that’s all that matters.”
min yoongi feels the forgiveness in his tone and the love in both their hearts as they beat as one. min yoongi is back where he belongs and that’s what matters.
